That was a bit of a clanker by Lanker on the winner.

Really good hockey game though.

EP didn’t get a point on the tying goal but his FO started it all. No points for him though.

Lankinen should have controlled that OT goal.

Overall really liked the game, exciting to watch.

And the Mackinnon goal on the mini 3 on 2 in which he played like a 1980’s goalie way out to challenge the guy in the middle leaving a wide open net if either of the other two guys are the shooter — which you should never do when facing that attack with the defenders where they were. And the fourth goal where an uncontrolled push left a wide open net for his burped up rebound to be pounded home. (I don’t want to blame him for the rebound; one timer from that angle on a post to post is a tough rebound to control).

He made some really good saves, too. But his positioning and push and rebound control have been off all year. It’s reminding me of DeSmith.

Still, entertaining game, and a good effort overall. A few mistakes from the heretofore unblemished Willander for the kid to learn from, but the thing to learn from this game is that if you don’t disassemble when things go wrong and you stick to the game plan, you can stay in games against very good teams. Frankly, I feel better about this team tonight than I did last night.

Frankly, I feel better about this team tonight than I did last night.

Yeah, it's been a bit of a fire drill for him this year so far, as it was tonight. It was a strong overall team effort tonight, though for sure.

And yeah, I too couldn't help but feel a little more encouraged after this one.

I agree, the brunette seems to be holding up better against the ravages of time.
