And Neely's public disclosure of what was on the table (which I believe "sources" have said hasn't actually been offered) would feed into Swayman's sentiment.

This one has the makings of a trade and sign, where the acquiring team actually pays Swayman a little bit less than what Boston offered as giant fuck off.

Good deal for Swayman. Some risk signing goalies to these kinds of contracts, especially those who haven't played over 44 games in a regular season. He's got the talent, though.

He's probably a pretty good analog to Demko, but Demko's both carried more of a load and been broken by it before.
