This is glass-half-full season, my boy.
Half full. Half empty. I think I'll have another drink.

I will take this oppportuntiy to remind the site that the Dude rotary dialed Loopy back in the day.
So back to hockey...not digging Bains on the second line one bit.
Bains Chytil Garland does not whisper top 6 let alone scream it.
A bit troubled over that...
I think maybe they read our thoughts there Donny.

The Vancouver #Canucks have sent Braeden Cootes back to the WHL and will be recalling Max Sasson from Abbotsford.

That’s probably best… I think the kid will be a star in 3-4 years if not sooner

I don't think Cootes played badly or deserved sending back but we don't have the luxury of carrying him right now. We need a positive impact and Sasson brings that possibility.

I don't think he played well enough to say that his development is best served by staying with the big club either. I could see his development being hindered if he stays at this point.....similar to other young players who were right on the cusp and kept with the NHL team instead of going back to junior. Here he plays 10 minutes a night, and likely often gets hemmed in his own zone. In junior he will be a 1C and dominate, building confidence and his natural physical development will bring him full circle to Vancouver in a year's time even more ready.
I do agree that he hasn't done anything worthy of demotion, this is just where does he best develop and get some reps.
Can NHL teams have any involvement with a player's training regimen if they send that player back to junior, or is it a bit of a hands off thing until next year if they send him back to the Thunderbirds?

Yup, wise move, after last nights game it became abundantly clear, he needs to develop some, grow some hair on his chest [mod edit]

Glad he was sent down. I don't think he embarrassed himself while here but this was the right option.

On a stronger team he would have got his nine games.
But we're already lowering the lifeboats.

The games were far too important for a middling team like ours to mess around with an experiment like this. We needed to ice the strongest lineup possible every night to have much of any chance.
I guess management overestimated what they had.

He got rewarded for a great camp and got a couple of games. With his smarts I am sure he has recognized what he needs to work on to keep developing. Smart move sending him down.
