Were the issues that Miller and EP had, stem from being essentially the same person?! Opposites attract and all...

Petey doesn't know either
I admit it's kind of fun to occasionally rip past and current players, but when things go south, it's tough to be put in a spot to give an answer to unanswerable questions.

Even when you try to say the right things, the face betrays. We've seen it from Trevor, Naslund, Bo and even the M...

Not every leader can spin like Henrik

One thing about the Bread Man's $11.6M... he has never underperformed during the entire term of the contract. Not a single season. He may lack passion at one end of the ice, but he has always done what he's paid to at the other end.

For sure, and on those successful Ranger years - he was a plus player too, so even though maybe not the most defensively sound - he certainly scored way more than he was scored on.

The last two years are the only ones the opposite has been true - and those Ranger teams were dumpster fires.

That contract aged beautifully, and looks to have ended at the right time.

Interesting what a competent management group is capable of. I would love to have a Jeff Gorton type running Van.

Still remember the draft in Vancouver - the one and only I ever attended - and he picked up Kessel, Lucic and Marchand. Then turned around and flipped Raycroft for Rask. Effectively building their championship team in one draft.

Hockey Gods be blessed if we could do something similar.

Petey might be finding his game again.

10 goals in last 20 games, and he has been playing against the tough matchups...

Build that trade value dude.

Panarin was also a winger, a bit less defensive responsibility with the position. Not an excuse for the next to none he skated out though.

When a guy is punching his ticket at a 90 or better point per 82 pace, the +/- and defensive gaps often go overlooked by most fans. And rightfully so unless the guy is putting a puck directly into his own net ever other game, or turning it over at Bouchardesque levels.

He's been quietly rebounding - and doesn't have a lot of support - but let's hope it's enough to generate some serious offers.

I'm glad he put a tracker on his game. Only took 24 months to re-discover, like finding a lost sock underneath the dryer.

Might be finding it again... that might be a positive thing.

Yeah Corn, I hope that entices some teams to call. I hear we're listening to offers.

That line cracks me up every time I see it come from the media! :D

No shit - of course ANY GM would listen to ANY offer for ANY player.

It cracks me up even more because every GM says exactly that when asked. Fucking media, dropping Captain Obvious bombs like they just invented cold fusion.

0.5 g/gm is not a rebound for an $11.6M player. It is a slump.

If they happen to draft McKenna and don't trade Pettersson, who will have the scrawnier pipecleaners?

The longevity of this 0.5 g/gm begs the question: Is this a slump, or is it just the best he’s capable of now?

Well, McKenna is 2” shorter and already 5 lbs heavier than Scooter was when he was drafted. So I’d say draft day it’ll be a toss-up, but after a full summer of pro-prep training, by the time training camp rolls around McKenna will be the one hiring Petey to snake drain pipes.

I didn’t think McKenna looked small while at the WJC, I have no issues with his or Stenberg’s size. Either would look good on Petey’s wing, it we keep him.

The stats don't really agree with this, there are more $11.6m+ forwards than there were 41+ goal scorers last year (10 vs 8).

And of those ten forwards just four of them are on track to score 41+ goals at this rate (all of whom make more than Petterson).
