Stenberg will go #1 unless McKenna has a dramatic uptick in performance in college. He's just so much more complete of a player

The main selling points of Stenberg are that he's mature and polished, so what's the upside? He doesn't stand out in any other way. As my kid said, "you want them to be raw". Both McKenna and Voerhoff are raw.

Oddly, this is only the third time Sweden wins out of the 50 times it has been held.
1981 with the Sundström twins
2012 with eg Filip Forsberg and Mika Zibanejad
And now 2025.

Finland has won it 5 times and the USA 7.

In comparison, Sweden has won 11 out of 88 world championships (Finland 4, USA 3) and 2 out of 25 Olympic tournaments (USA 2, Finland 1). Czechia/Czechoslovakia are similar to Sweden with 13 golds at the WC, 1 at the OG and 2 at the WJC.

Of course in all three tournaments, most golds have been won by Canada and Soviet/Russia, with a slight edge for Canada.
WC 28 vs 27, OG 9 vs 9 and WJC 20 vs 13.

Anyway, it felt great to show that we can win at this level too.
