2026 World Juniors Tourney

Re: 2026 World Juniors Tourney
McKenna didn't make a difference in that game. A single secondary assist. But he put up 1.67 PPG in this tournament. He's fast as hell. In a Canucks jersey the only winger that comes to mind that also wore Vancouver colours and possessed that sort of speed was Bure.
That type of speed is game changing. Even though he was 2nd in scoring in this tournament going into the bronze medal game, the weakness of Canada was team defense, and he was no help. But he turned 18 only 2 weeks ago. He has the tools to grow, provided that he has the personality type to put in the work and learn the full game.
Another player who is exceptionally fast, came highly touted in his draft year, was a complete non-factor in his WJC appearance, played 4 NHL seasons on track to underwhelm, and since then is pacing at 1.45 PPG, on track for for a HHoF career, is Nate MacKinnon.
I see similarities.
I'd be risking it on McKenna, even though he isn't a center.

Looks like Canada will get the bronze.

A friend of mine in Calgary is a huge Flames fan.....he says the opposite.
He says Parekh looks like an offensive talent but won't have much of a career in the NHL. Questions whether he is coachable and willing to play D.

It's far too early to say he won't have much of an NHL career. I think the culture in the Flames dressing room and the coaching they have, will go a long way to correcting any holes in his game. You can teach a player to play defense a lot easier than you can teach offense. We'll see in a few years.

It was like being stuck between 2 Hindenburgs going down simultaneously. Lots of smoke and really hard to breathe

Congrats to Canada. A good game that was obviously hard for both teams to want to play in. Not the result any of us wanted but I would have been disappointed in them had they come out and laid an egg.
Me I’m picking Sternerg.

You sure she's talking about a player?
I blame Gradin.
Plus they are soft, cute and cuddly and I for one know Wids prefers that.
