Both Rathbone and Podkolzin should have been in Abbotsford to start the season.
If someone doesn't need to clear waivers they should have to be extraordinary to make to big club.
Neither were in the preseason.
Since spots was given to them, other players had to be waived or traded.
If players start in the AHL, it usually only takes a few games before injuries open up jobs on the big club if they earn them by being the best options out of Abbotsford.
