I’ve seen Pratt there, he acts like he owns the joint like John Gotti at Sparks Steakhouse.

The Canucks have signed Kravtsov, believe it or not.

I would complain about this, but it's a two-way deal. He could be a decent addition for Abby. It does pay $450 at the AHL level, which is really good money to play down there.

Looks like a good depth signing - 9th overall pick - but hasn't stuck in the big league.

Sure. Why not? Maybe Manny will get his head on straight.

I'll be surprised if he sticks up here, but no harm in giving him a shot. I thought he had some decent moments when he was last here, so we'll see.

I’m about as excited with this as I was with the Sprong signing and the many other Sprongs and Kravtsovs before that.

Kravtsov was top ten in goals and points in the KHL last year, a material step up from his prior KHL performances.

Of course, in both categories, he was behind former Canuck Josh Leivo and Canuck-for-a-game Sheldon Rempal.

Though from a defensive nightmare in his own end - he finished the past season a +31. I've never watched KHL games, but that is a pretty severe turnaround, and could show an ability to play bottom six minutes, adding a bit of offense to that group while staying in the coach's good books.

But yeah. Likely will be one of the highest paid AHL players. I'd think that management signed that deal, thinking due to that AHL amount - he'll sneak through waivers at the end of pre-season.

UFA after this one. Abbotsford might get a very motivated player.

Something tells me Kravtsov’s stay will be as fleeting as Sprongs.

Tocchet's frustration was in that he would have preferred the Canucks traded Pettersson the year before to resolve the issue. Felt it put him in a tough position. He was told a deal with Pettersson was imminent and when it failed to materialize he told management the situation was untenable going into another year.

One of my old sources popped up over the weekend and shared what he believes went down. Takeout or leave it.

And it wasn't just his bullying of Pettersson, bullying was how it was described. He was like that to a number of younger players. But he also created a torn room. Most players like Pettersson and felt in the middle because they also like JT. In the end his teammates could not reach him any longer as he shut down and shut out a lot of players. It was gut wrenching for a number of them who loved playing with JT. But they also love playing with Pettersson. More so new leadership, ie Hughes, saw the impact he was having on younger guys coming into the team.

I think JT just burnt his bridges and I still feel its too bad because he was one of my favourites. He plays old school hockey and is an alpha male. But man he could carry this team his back on any given night.

Not particularly there Blobster.

Pettersson probably won't be doing this.

Just read a write up on NHL.com about him training like a fiend.

He was quoted saying "he can't wait to drag his snag back and forth across this one message board poster named Mëds forehead over at Canuckscorner..."
