THE FANS started the uproar... the media merely reported the facts.
And where is this Twitter outrage exactly? This is your quote?
No one is doubting Mr Zeisberger on this... other than YOU.

It is up to YOU to prove Mr Zeisberger wrong.

Mike Zeisberger, Toronto Sun: Top 30 Noteable Members, Professional Hockey Writers' Association

Others on that list have concurred with Mr Zeisberger in this matter.

I don't know of any who have disagreed.

Meh so the leaves hold down a playoff spot in the garbage East while being outshot and outchanced every night during their current run . It won't last and even if they squeak in due to the state of the conference they are going nowhere this season or in the future .

You showed up. I wonder why?

As a Leaf-hater, I'm glad they're doing so well so far!

Why?

Because I don't want them to get too high of a draft pick.

They're doing well because this has been the easy part of their sched.

They're doing well because 20 of their 30 games thus far have been at home.

They're doing well because they lead the league in PP opportunities at home (by a huge margin).

Starting now their schedule gets tougher.

The annual fall of the Leaves will begin any time now.

They will very likely miss the playoffs.

Again.

WHOA deja vu or WHAT!!

As a Leaf-hater I'm glad their top upcoming free agents are doing so well!

Kadri, Santorelli, Winnik, Panik, Franson, and Bernier.

Why?

Because they're gonna lose a few of those guys.

Doncha just love the salary cap and all those bad contracts the Leaves have?

Yeah, they're gonna be even worse next season than they will end up being this season.

Did I mention they're gonna miss the playoffs? :drink:

You're such a bad troll it's not even remotely funny.

The leaves lose a few games and you're nowhere to be found. You're a bloody cowardly troll you are.

So the leaves may squeak into the playoffs in the shitty Eastern Conference. Let's all put our heads in the sand and just ignore that little fact that the leaves are still a terrible possession team with an unsustainably high PDO.

In a week or two they'll go on a slide again. The sweater tossing will start anew and leaves Nation will be calling for the head of Carlyle/Nonis/Phaneuf/Reimer/whoever. It's all so nauseatingly repetitious that it might drive one to avoiding Sportscentre and HNIC at all costs (oh wait, I already do).

The salary cap is going up. The leaves are fine. They'll lose a couple of guys like all 30 NHL teams do. Kadri and Bernier are going nowhere.

The salary cap is going up $4M, but $1M of that increase will go towards the Gleason buyout.

(Gleason buyout penalty = $0.8M this season... = $1.8M next season)

Kadri, Franson, and Bernier will be wanting $5M each next season.

Santorelli, Winnik, and Panik will be wanting $2.5M each next season.

Do the math (seriously, Capgeek is your friend) Leaves are screwed.

They are definitely going to be worse next season than this season.

Nice to see you learned from last year Tuna... you're not predicting the Leaves make the playoffs this time.

You're welcome.

Why do the leaves need to keep all of Panik/Winnik and Santorelli? There are cheap replacements available every summer.

It's odd you think that screws them.

And Franson does not need to return either.

There are ways to cut costs you aren't mentioning like trading Reimer and getting a cheaper backup.

BTW, the leaves now have the best offense+4th best goal differential in the NHL.

I think it's awesome that you can read stats all on your own. Now run upstairs and tell you Mom.

Honestly, why do people even care that Tuna is here bragging about the leaves achievements.. in mid-December no less. Around this time last year both the leaves and Canucks were top ten teams in the league; both ended up in the top ten at the draft instead.

Who gives a fuck about where the leaves are? It'll probably sting a bit having him troll around here in the spring if the Canucks miss the playoffs and the leaves win a round ( :look: ) but really.. who cares.

In the grand scheme of things, when I think about the leaves I think about a franchise that in my lifetime, has got to have by a country mile the lowest proportion of on ice success to fan and media passion/scrutiny/support. Over thirty plus years they have one division win, nine trips out of the first round, and just an abysmal record after the salary cap (somewhat) leveled the playing field.

Could you imagine what it would look like if someone went out and compiled the cost of a win per franchise over the last decade, per fan dollar spent? Newspaper column inches? Per minute of national media coverage?

Basically Tuna seems to like taking a break from the ridiculous fishbowl environment (that he's so intent on convincing us doesn't actually exist) and coming over here to crow about how great the leaves are nearly half the time, or about how Toronto is a huge fucking city and media market as though that's, I don't know, an achievement or something.

As far as I'm concerned.. welcome aboard buddy. Enjoy the fresh air. After this little winning streak ends, happy trails.. I'm sure we'll see you back (but probably not in April or May).
