Well, I've been to China and I've been to Berlin, but nah. Walls don't really do it for me.

But I guess it’s good for Canada....

A USDA study shows that Canadian shipments of wheat to China have grown over 400% in two years. The report said, “Canada’s share of total Chinese imports of wheat has rocketed above 60% in marketing year 2018/19, up from 32% in marketing year 2017/18, as U.S. wheat exports to China have plunged and Australian exportable supplies have fallen sharply.”

The family farm is a quaint memory. Those still remaining will continue to fade away.

Just had dinner with some Iowans tonight. One has a brother who took over the family farm and still runs it.
Soy beans, corn and oats. I think he may have a tough road ahead of him.

The son of the family I stayed in back in the 80’s has sold his farm though and is now operating the local grain silo instead.

Look at the size and cost of the machinery being used and how many days/weeks a year it is used for, you know the independent family farmer is doomed.
