How was there not at least one person in the Maple Laughs organization that picked up on the fact that Finger was not Sauer?
What a complete shit show of an organization!

Well scientifically speaking, it could be both:okcanuck wrote:Centre of the universe? Fuck that!!! Toronto is the asshole of North America
So your argument is TSN and Sportsnet would not run a negative story like that yet they just spent the last week crapping on the team over not "Saluting" the fans 1 night?Mëds wrote:BigTuna wrote:That story was not true. Those are your examples of why you believe that the story isn't true?
TSN = a network that has the leaves so far up their arse that when they exhale the world smells Toronto's cock. (Might explain why they were so blindsided by the Rogers deal with the NHL.....they're as on point as the team they pander to).
Sportsnet = the new NHL media whore in Canada. Toronto is the big ticket in terms of sales and revenues. You think they want to be the ones to run with a story that shows just how poorly that franchise is being managed. Doesn't Rogers own a chunk of MLSE?
ESPN = Biggest sports network. Worth $40 Billion. They don't really have a vested interest in the Toronto Maple leaves.
Yeah.....I'll go with ESPN.
Your keyboard is on bastardized French.BigTuna wrote: How about another example: Kessel doesnèt speak to a TSN reporter and the entire network runs with it like it means something.

Yet they are doing it daily. How do you explain that.Island Nucklehead wrote:ESPN is also a parent company to TSN, owning 20% of the network. The other 80% is owned by Bell Media. Bell Media is a subsidiary of BCE.
The leaves are majority-owned by BCE and Rogers (Sportsnet). Is it plausible that these organizations (TSN and Sportsnet) wouldn't want to make the leaves look THAT inept? I'd say they have more than a little motivation to not make the Leaves look bush-league.
Obviously ESPN doesn't give a shit, they're controlled by a small company by the name of Disney, which has about $84B in assets. Disney could buy the entire NHL about 6 times.
Critiquing the play of the team and the players is a tad different than making management and ownership look as though they're the ones that should be wearing helmets.BigTuna wrote: Yet they are doing it daily. How do you explain that.
But they are not doing that. They spent last week making a huge drama over salutegate and Kessel not talking to TSN reporter, Jonas Siegel.Aaronp18 wrote:Critiquing the play of the team and the players is a tad different than making management and ownership look as though they're the ones that should be wearing helmets.BigTuna wrote: Yet they are doing it daily. So Kessel doesn't play for the team anymore?BigTuna wrote: But they are not doing that. They spent last week making a huge drama over salutegate and Kessel not talking to TSN reporter, Jonas Siegel.
So you feel any NHL team would get that negative attention over not saluting the fans from TSN. LOLAaronp18 wrote:So Kessel doesn't play for the team anymore?BigTuna wrote: But they are not doing that. They're critiquing the players.
Maybe they should be blasting management for giving these guys extensions and signing them in the first place. But Dreger won't do that to cuz.
I think saluting your fans for every regular season win is bush league anyways.BigTuna wrote:[

Bingo. It's all about performance, and that's not unique to Toronto. When ANY Canadian team is as bad as the leaves have been, the media hammers them to sell papers.Aaronp18 wrote:Critiquing the play of the team and the players is a tad different than making management and ownership look as though they're the ones that should be wearing helmets.BigTuna wrote: Yet they are doing it daily. 100% they would. If you sucked ass, had jerseys thrown on the ice, and then made a concious decision to NOT salute the fans and offer up any rational reason to explain your decision (other than it's a fuck you to the boo-birds), there would obviously be questions asked. Look at the Oilers Jersey-toss when it first came out last year, was big news. The Torts dressing room attack vs. Calgary, news for weeks. The Canadian media LOVES kicking Canadian teams when they're down. Blood sells. This is not unique to the Leaves.BigTuna wrote: So you feel any NHL team would get that negative attention over not saluting the fans from TSN. LOL
