Even the GM whose owner has a gun to his head telling him to dump his biggest fish won't pull the trigger there.

The Yotes have $350K in cap space right now. They would have gained $2.25M, dumped $7.25M this year and $4.25M next year in real dollars, plus a first round pick, and a couple of prospects.

Yeah. Gun to his head and Amrstrong still insisted on Sutter and not Eriksson? Even then he said no despite a savings of $4M in real dollars and cap.
Lol, you don't know the details of that trade that was not to be.

Just going by what the rumors were.

However it was obvious that at least one of those two guys had to be outgoing for OEL's $8.25M to be incoming.

Yes, no doubt Eriksson was in the deal.

The main rumour though was that Coyote's insistence on including Demko is what killed the thing.

Canucks dodged a bullet with Tanev. Glad for him, he was able to cash in on Hughes carrying him around the ice, I don’t see gio being able to do that. Time to get Barry on a short term deal to help edler with transitioning the zone.

Yup happy for him, covid-19 was good to him as it shut down the season for a few months allowed to him heal up for the playoffs so he can appear to have a solid healthy season, now he's guaranteed bank - retirement cash setup.

All Hughes needs is a stay at home dman to hold the fort so he can produce...should trade a winger for d.savard.

Yes they did but I’m happy for those guys to get paid one last time even if it is the Flames. I’m glad it didn’t materialize with OEL today as well. And if they don’t sign Barrie that will be four bullets dodged. Benning has had lead buzzing around him for days. I like the idea of his ducking down into a foxhole and waiting it out. He got the goalie he needed on a good term. Hopefully Holtby can resurrect himself under Ian Clark.
