He's Oiler's Matt Benning's brother, Jim's nephew. Troy Stecher sized right handed offensive D playing in the AJHL in the Edmonton suburbs and off to the U of Denver next year. Draws comparisons to Cale Makar though everyone concedes he isn't as good. Is putting up impressive numbers in that league though.

He put up some really stupid numbers this year, plus he’s off to the same ncaa program as Cale makar. He’s better than Matt but he’s not as big which is why he’d be a 3rd rounder. Jim picked Matt (michaels bro) way back in his Boston days with like a 7th round pick or something.

Yeah, it wouldn't be such a bad pick in the 78 hole or wherever it is would it. He could even get a tad bigger at Denver over two or three years. Of course the payoff from the reaction of the local critics is what makes it so appetizing. Like I was saying to Strangelove, with Brackett gone and TSN radio and a contingent of fans already in a foul mood they would go absolute apeshit

So if the league jams this bastardized 24 team tournament down everyone’s yaps and the draft is pushed to the end of the season, what if Vancouver gets stomped in the first round by a lower seeded team, then what? That could end up being a top 10 pick. No way that should go to the Devils.
