Cements the savings on Bo.

League directive not to announce deals until post SCF.

League usually looks the other way when there are slow news day for the 3 day travel between cities, but on a game day?

Prime years wrapped up... he's only 26-yrs-old.

I agree theman, my ceiling was $7M x 8, but hey not bad, full NMC is for 4 years only.

Could look better in a few years if the cap increases as expected.

Hockey Widow wrote: Tue Jun 18, 2024 12:39 am When you put it into context of already having Pettersson and Miller at centre then ya, the money Lindholm wants is too rich for us. Even if we move Pettersson to wing it is too rich.

We need wingers to play with Pettersson. I thought Kuzmenko might be that guy but he could not adapt to Tocchet's systems. It is really a shame too because he was a crowd favourite but if he cannot learn to play a 200' game then his time in the NHL will be limited, or at least his next contract(s) will be.

We need a Maholtra type there. Colour me stupid but I thought Blugar did a great job as 3rd line centre. So to me at the TDD a 3rd line centre should not have been a priority. Why did they not wait until their man from Pittsburg was available. I think Allvin was a little quick to jump the gun.

Anyway, it will be an interesting couple of weeks to see if we re-sign anyone. Our cap concerns could really hinder us this year, once again.

It would be nice for the season to end tomorrow so we could see some trades, maybe.
Yep a wing to play with Petey is priority #1, especially after the Hronek deal which came in right around what I figured it would. Still have about $20 million to spend but that needs to be on another depth C (Blueger back based on all reports), 2 more D (one likely Myers, not sure the other) and hopefully 2-3 wingers. I suspect Blueger and Myers will both be in the $2.5-$2.75 million range meaning there's lots left over to go big game hunting.

If Allvin is able to get rid of Mikheyev as well then he's golden and has the money to go after 2 top wingers, say one at $7-$9 million and another at $4-$5 million, plus the D we need and add some depth players. Will be an interesting 2 weeks coming up!

well below the 8+ mil that the media were throwing around, so hopefully the other numbers on other ufa's are also all high.

maybe Tciso's numbers are right!

Sorry if the formatting goes to shit. But, my lineup is only over by $1.5 mil, with 23 players. Demote a couple of 4th liners, and we fit under the cap. I just ignored Poolman, as we will need his LTIR. I also still managed $7mil for Hronek and Lindholm, $5 for Zed, and $3 for Joshua. So, don't get your shit into a media frenzied knot. We could come back with basically the same lineup pretty easily. Now, it's time to make improvements, not just hanging onto what we had.

trying not to get in to a media frenzied knot here, as requested, but sure if you give a 1 million discount to each of Lindholm, Hronek and Zed from what the reports are then you can make it work. I mean I would be on board with the prices you are suggesting but if they aren't signing, they aren't signing.
Hronek signed for $250k more than my estimate. Let's see if the others are close.

Hronek signed for $250k more than my estimate. Let's see if the others are close.
I also said before that if the Canucks can get Hronek, Myers and Zadorov signed for a combined 15 mil, they would be doing well.

So far on track with that.

Hronek had to be the first on the list. Everything else revolves around him for the signing order, according to the holes in the lineup. Now, They can pitch Lindholm, one more time, at about 7 mil. Lindy gets a week to figure out if he wants to win or not. Depending on his response, we can then choose whether or not to overpay to keep Joshua. If Lindy goes, we resign Zed at our leisure (before the end of the month) :D

Good call on the pricetag Tisco!

Good point - there is always an order of operations, step 1 done successfully.

Step 2:
