would wait and give it to Celebrini next year instead.....rumour was he had hoped the Canucks would tank in his draft year because he wanted to play in Vancouver.
Always got a kick out of this 2 yrs ago when we had that playoff run. Hopefully 1 way or another, it will happen someday.

Make Celebrini the first 20m man. Max term will be seven years when he is available for an offer sheet.
They should happily make a 7x20m offer sheet.

Yeahno.
Sorry.
TFG are gonna have to build their own team.
Why would either of those kids elect to come to this shit show organization with what may be the worst ownership group in pro sports in order to be used as a cash generator as opposed to an asset in building a Cup winner?
It's 2026.
Players don't look at a crest which hung on their wall as kids, they gauge entire business models to maximize their brand.
Bedard as top gun on an original 6 with a second in Frondell now in town creating a real Kane/Toews comparable, not whatever animated, cartoon version we have been discussing at this here GDHTMB, and Celebrini as the same on an up and coming team with years of success ahead of them, one of his best buds (Smith...another legit Kane/Toews scenario) on the squad and his family in town due to his old man's job.
Because they liked the Canucks as kids?
Get over it.
Not happening.

The other JT did it, Tavares. He even took a team friendly contract on his most recent deal.
Also, if a guy wants to "maximize his brand" why not do it in a hockey mad city/country in Canada? McDavid & A.Matthews are doing exactly that and doing pretty good for themselves. I see them in non-hockey related advertisement all the time. Don't think they get those kind of endorsement deals in American cities that don't really care about hockey.

Geez sorry Snoozi...I should have commented on the odd outliers.
Figured that was a given.
Other than the odd Tavares as a rule todays players.......blah blah blah.
Keep dreaming bro.
He ain't coming here.
Nor is Bedard.
Time for Canucks fans to get their heads out of fantasy land and demand real change and growth from smart drafting, trades, minor UFA's and development.
Crosby.
Forsberg.
Weber.
Name any star UFA we salivated over through the years which was always a pipe dream.
Et cetera...
...never happens.
Not coming.
On the bright side we can call them things like turncoat and quitter when they don't come....

...toxic, cancer, selfish, greedy, disloyal, overrated, was never that good, bad VO2Max, etc. when they actually want to stay or re-sign but mgmt decides otherwise, forces them to waive their NMCs or expand their list of teams and then need the media to spin so the organization look like the good guys.
^ Scenarios like this too, yah?

On the bright side, apparently Dallas fans are already frustrated with a chaos Giraffe.

I’m expecting a significant upgrade in the Canuck’s PK stats next year since the coach won’t be throwing him over the boards in the first PK defensive pairing.
