Agree with you there. I figured a year in Abbotsford would be needed but shit he's pretty close right now

Yep, one and done.

Scurry wasn't going to help this effort.

Playmaking/driving skaters currently signed to the Canucks regular roster (including LTIR) in order of, imesho, most effective in an individual capacity.

Hughes
Garland
Boeser
Pettersson
*Chytil
*Raty

*to a lesser extent or at a bottom-6 level

Guys like Kane, DeBrusk, Sushi, and Sherwood, are shooters, finishers, net crashers. None of them are top-line calibre on a contender (absent a Crosby or McDavid as their pivot).

Kane is best suited to a 3rd line role at this point in his career. Sherwood is a 3rd line guy who is playing like a 1st/2nd line tweener. DeBrusk is a 2nd line winger, and he's never been a guy to carry the play.

Whether anyone (management) wants to admit it or not, the forward group was built around JT. He was the lynch pin. Pettersson was the secondary threat in the top-6 group, and he feasted on secondary defenders and when he was on the PP another key threat for the PK to worry about. JR and PA traded the cog in their build with no plan to replace him and we're seeing the fallout of either or both of their mismanagement and poor assessment and/or ownership's meddling.

Good assessment, but I would rank Chytil higher (when he's healthy).

Perhaps. I hope so.

Sample size is too small for me to really say one way or another.

Only saw a part of the game as I was watching BC Lions play. Probably a good thing as I flipped back and saw the score.

Not really surprising with so many injuries.

This team may be so far out of the playoffs in a month even the Aquas might finally consent to sell.

Sherwood could probably get them a 1st.

3 field goals to tie or lead change in the last 90 (or so) seconds I saw.

Quickly off topic for a football query to a long time site user who is a Lions fan.

Not a CFL guy Reef but do you think they have a chance on the road In Saskatchewan next week?

No, they are a great team and have a good O and D. Lions have a great O but the D is either good or horrid. They can’t stop the run at all.

But like a Canucks fan I will suffer through the game and swear and probably through my Lions shirt on the floor in disgust. Luckily this is all done in the privacy of my own home.
