Interesting.
Yeah, another goal for the kid last night, but kind of an iffy game honestly. Things have been coming together for him lately but yesterday he was back to the old brain cramps, a couple of dumb penalties and decisions with the puck, leaving the puck behind at the blueline in the shootout, etc. It's been a rocky path for him, but things are generally on the upswing.

Montreal might have to create some space for some of those Centers next season.
I wonder if a Center could be aquired there?

2-0 Abbotsford after the first period. Shot are 17-5 in the Canucks favor.

Some notes:

Di Giuseppe won a net front battle and beat Connor Hughes to open the scoring 32 seconds in.

Good to see Noel Hoefenmeyer back in the Laval lineup today after a concerning medical incident on the Rocket bench last night.

Kudryavtsev picks the corner on Hughes from the blueline but the referee waves the goal off for goaltender interference.

Khaira draws another penalty - he's playing center now with the Max Sasson callup.

Arseneau stays down after hitting the ice hard. He doesn't look happy as he skates off, nor does his linemate Florian Xhekaj. Two mean dudes.

Some good pressure on a brief Abby powerplay late in the period sees Tristan Nielsen push a trickling puck over the line to make the score 2-0.

A clearly agitated Xkekaj takes a late penalty in a scrum as the Rocket seem about ready for ignition and lift off.

The score after one period of play - Abbotsford 2 Laval no score.

I'd love to have Florian Xhekaj, he would solve so many of our problems. An enforcer who has 21 goals centering the fourth line as a rookie pro.

He is very noticeable out there in many ways.

A 3-1 score in favor of Abbotsford after two periods:

Canucks go down 5 on 3 as Woo and Candotta get into a short scrap.

Mesar deflects a Trudeau point shot behind Tolopilo just as the power play expires. 2-1 now.

Blais snaps a wrister off the post glove side on Hughes.

Klimovich then hits the bar also on Connor Hughes' glove side.

Ty Mueller then beats Hughes on the backhand with his back to the goaltender to make it a 3-1 score. Nifty.

Kudryavtsev has obviously been watching Quinn Hughes lately, the way he walks the blueline now. LOL.

Sustained Abbotsford pressure for much of the second half of the period.

Wifi Jr.

Bring it.

Even if he ends up just taking care of the group in the A.

That would be awesome, but i don't see the Habs giving up on Florian. The sooner he gets in the Nhl w/his bro the better.

No, he's good Donny. He'll join his brother with the Habs soon I think.

The final score was 4-3 as Abbotsford notched its 13th straight win. That's 41 wins on the season.

Mueller goes high glove on Hughes for his second of the game 51 seconds onto the period making it 4-1 early.

At the end of a Laval powerplay Davidson beats Tolopilo to make it a 4-2 score.

Cayden Primeau replaces Connor Hughes in the Rocket goal with 12 minutes remaining,.

A brutal icing calls leaves tired cAnucks on the ice. An abysmal mistake by the lineman.

Primeau to the bench with 2;52 remaining.

Khaira takes a very iffy crosschecking penalty and Owen Beck capitalizes to draw the Rocket within a goal.

But Abbotsford hangs on for the win!!

Epilogue:

The bitch ass Laval team refuses to leave the ice for some reason after the game.It was an emotional game, but come on now, this is really juvenile. Their coach, Pascal Vincent doesn't control his players, or even seems to be perhaps responsible. He comes off as a complete douchebag. But we win, they sulk.

Lucas Condotta. He's their captain. Not much of a fight though.

Sigh...and out of nowhere, via drafting, solid management/ownership, coaching and development, the Habs are good again, moving upwards towards a solid future and many paces ahead of us.
