I’m hoping for around the 10th pick. It’s a good draft class up to the middle of the 1st round

Even so, let's not forget the mandate to do everything possible to get into the playoffs will only carry over to next year. Meaning good buy draft pick.

Yep, not sure they'll dump Lekk, but no chance we'll see all three of DPetey, Mancini and Willander on the blue line next year. It's a shame, I'd hate to lose any of them after what we've already seen from two of them so far, but it's written on the wall.

What I do know is the guy we dump will be the one that flourishes. And so will the player selected from the draft pick (the next Dylan Guenther). OEL desperate trade to save season/jobs version 2.0. It's the Canuck way.

It's just a gut feeling but it seems to me that Rutherford has a certain affinity for American Ivy League alumni like Sam Lafferty and Drew O'Connor.

If you're wondering what Rutherford's next move will be, keep an eye on American-born Ivy Leaguers.

With Allvin, it's all about the pursuit of the next Nils Aman. Two methods, one goal.

The mushy middle will be the legacy of Allvin and Rutherford but you’re on point, they have their types.

Allvin has been on repeat these days stating they have plans on addressing the top 2 line centre position, or lack thereof thanks to trading an elite top 2 centre for middle 6 muffins. Now, we all know how much too two line centres cost these days, so I highly suggest for everyone not to get too attached to our valued top three prospects and the 2025 first. Some of these assets are gonna get launched.

Long live the Aqualini Mandate!

Serious question:

Is the Canucks goalie depth solved with this signing?

I am thinking they will end up in the 8 - 12 range.

Yeah, I guess I could see that too.

Who would be out there to target?

I think its more of an affinity to the guys they know: MP3, Lafferty, O'Connor.

They know a lot of guys, though. Pittsburgh churned and churned complements around that core, looking for the right mix. The problem for the Canucks is there's no more forward core.

I've mentioned since RoboSwede and the Geriatric arrived, all they do is churn through players.

Rent, don't buy.

As I said when we hired 'em, we could have done better but we could (and had) done a lot worse.

They inherited a circus.

Like when Gillis inherited his circus, they inherited the best parts of the team and it was up to them to push it over the finish line. Debatable if 2011 was job well done or the opposite in that it was right there for the taking and he failed by not doing enough to augment that group. I’ve always believed it was the latter with the scrap heap of players he got to compliment (Tanner Glass, Oreskovich, Alberts, Tambellini, Ballard, Rome, Bolduc…).

There are some parallels with this group. Could last year be their 2011 and they failed to do enough?

Whatever’s the case I’m pretty staunch on my belief that every regime deserves 5 years. So I’ll give them 2 more to see what they can salvage. Only wish it was a 5 year vision, not 1 year to the next for 5 years. And again, this is more on the owners than them.

Canucks signed goalie Aku Koskenvuo from Harvard (NCAA) to a two year ELC, probably will start in the ECHL. From Finland - 6’4 201.

They are gonna try to make up for their dismal prospect pool by signing college UFA’s. Fools gold, they rarely pan out, but Allvin may think he is different in that the historical stats of signing college UFAs will not apply here.

Almost. He is a Canucks former 5th round draft pick. He is not a FA like others who are a hope and a prayer.
