I think the Nucks should have held on to Sushi7. Our D is still not very good and he's a pretty good defender; he still have one yr on the books and is very good value for the cap hit. If you want to make the playoffs, u need guys like him. Also, having him in the lineup allows us the flexibility to give our youngers guys like D-Petey & Mancini more time to slow cook on the farm. Maybe mgmt really want that $3M cap space and feel it would give them some options in the offseason, who knows.

I'd only trade CS7 if we were offered an overpay, like a high 2nd round pick. I'd rather move out Suter & Fartbort. Not sure we can afford to move out another D-man though if we have any playoff aspirations. I would like to get something for PS24 and wouldn't mind going with Raty instead. I think Raty can become like a Suter, except bigger and hopefully more skilled.
I think Forbort is outplaying him this year on a much lower number myself. And you can probably resign him at a similar number if need be.

How will he ever manage to exist in that newly cancerous dressing room?

Canucks now have something like 13 mil in cap space, are they planning on a massive, salary, addition?

I'm starting to wonder the same thing myself. Between what they have accrued and what they have shed through the season, you have to wonder what they plan to spend it on - and when. :hmmm:

some are excited by a third, LOL

It means Scooter's extra $3m next year is covered or part of the OEL cap hit is covered.

Take your pick.

I hope and expect that they will use all that cap, but maybe to facilitate other trades not just add to their system.

Soucy was strangely bad to start the season, not as talked about as Demko and the Alien War but wasn’t sharp. Bizarre year

The return for Soucy could have been a little bit better had the Canucks been willing to retain. However the Canucks are already retaining on two contracts this year so they only have one slot left for this year. It is believed that they are holding that slot for Friday as there may be a deal that requires them to retain on one of their own players or for another team to facilitate a trade.

RoboSwede quote of the day. "look at the players who moved and they had playoff experience and played well in big games."

Holy fuck, what a condemnation.

Of the entire Canucks team.

Fuck does that speak volumes about where this franchise has fallen to.

Strange, Boeser and Suter were clutch in the playoffs last year, Boeser was the team's leading playoff scorer at 7-5-12 in 12 games. This guy is completely full of shit. And he seems very comfortable trashing his players in the media.

Yeah. That’s for sure.

Boeser’s playoff numbers are actually good. Definitely top-line winger numbers. 11G/23P in 29 GP. His career has him as a 0.79PPG in the regular season…..his playoff production is also 0.79PPG. Compare him to top-line wingers like Artemi Panarin, Mitch Marner, Kyle Connor, and Patrick Kane, and you’ll see that their playoff production actually dips from their regular season pace. I’m not using them as comparable in terms of actual talent and calibre, just in terms of role the fill. I think we actually undervalue Brock around here at times because we are looking for a 1.0PPG forward when that’s not what he is.

I think Brock is "undervalued" due to prophetic firing of synapses because his future considered value is based on the ever enhancing pace of the game versus the unquestioned future velocity of gait.

There will be a severe hitch in his git along as he ages.

if you will...

The playoffs are hard. BB isnt a top end play driver but is paid like one.

He does have some hockey smarts and a set of hands but is absolute zero on the physicality scale which isn't what wins when it counts. Plus he moves like he's over 40

Van wanted a play driver level return for a complimentary asset
