No, people would just find something else to complain about.Blob Mckenzie wrote: ↑Thu Feb 27, 2025 8:30 amYeah they have to remove the second dripdick from the situation unless he suddenly figures it out in the next 24 games. Thing is they need another center coming back. So if they can make a solid deal between now and the deadline, do it. And unless he lights it up, he has to go before July 1. I'd kinda prefer selfishly that they do trade him. It would clean this place up a bit if nothing else.BoS wrote: ↑Thu Feb 27, 2025 7:53 am The team has been competitive all season. Boring as it may be, Tocchet has them positioned to make the playoffs despite all the bullshit two members of the core have put the team through.
Miller is gone.
Now is the time to remove the remaining tumour that is holding this club back from succeeding.

You know damn well that deal comes with a NMC/NTC.theman wrote: ↑Thu Feb 27, 2025 6:12 pmNo thanks, even with the cap going up.Hockey Widow wrote: ↑Thu Feb 27, 2025 6:08 pm Apparently Canucks and Boeser agree on 8.2 per year but term is the sticking point. Canucks offered 5 years Boeser wants 7 years. Will they meet in the middle and say 6 years at 8 million. Canucks look to be trying hard to re-sign him before TDD.
Way too rich.

BRICKSHOE BOESER 8.2...Imagine the footspeed in another 3+ years though.Hockey Widow wrote: ↑Thu Feb 27, 2025 6:08 pm Apparently Canucks and Boeser agree on 8.2 per year but term is the sticking point. He's a smart player, scores a lot of goals when he drives the net and has speedy linemates. His foot speed is well below average but is probably an above average winger all things considered.
So is 8.2 an average salary for a top 6 scoring wing? Id say it's pretty close

Fuck, you are most likely right. Forgot about that. 7 mil per is the highest I would go with him, if I were the Canucks.BoS wrote: ↑Thu Feb 27, 2025 6:39 pmYou know damn well that deal comes with a NMC/NTC.theman wrote: ↑Thu Feb 27, 2025 6:12 pmNo thanks, even with the cap going up.Hockey Widow wrote: ↑Thu Feb 27, 2025 6:08 pm Apparently Canucks and Boeser agree on 8.2 per year but term is the sticking point. Lines at practice today - seems like our best hope for a 1st line.
Joshua-EP40-Boeser
O’Connor-Chytil-Garland
DeBrusk-Suter-Höglander
Aman-Blueger-Sherwood
Bains
DPetey-Hronek
MPettersson-Myers
Forbort-Soucy
Mancini
Hughes was out - maintenance day with a new injury.
Demko is skating again - not at practice.
I don't see any need to rush Hughes back - let this team figure out who wants to stay and who can be dealt without him.

I'm guessing the hope is to have Joshua be the 'energy' guy - and Garland could be that guy, too - but Joshua has the size advantage (and has been playing a little better lately).
(seriously, though - anything to get EP40 going) Brock's decided to start playing for the new contract, so great things will happen with this line!

Just saw a click bait suggesting a buyout of Scooter so I looked it up. Fugly.
On a lighter note, I see Scooter is not getting $11.6M this season or next. He's pocketing $14.5M this year and next.

Ah, that would explained why he's parked the Scooter for the winter and put his feet up.
