From the Daily Hive:
"The trade deadline commenced last Friday, but don’t tell that to the Vancouver Canucks and Edmonton Oilers.
Both teams announced on Friday that they had made a deal, with the Oilers sending centre Jayden Grubbe to the Canucks in exchange for winger Josh Bloom.
Trades can still technically be made after the deadline, but it just means that any players involved can’t suit up for their new teams in the Stanley Cup playoffs."

Nice to get a RS Centre into the system. He looks like a bit of a longshot as his stats are kinda meh in the minors. Oh well, give him a couple yrs in Abby and then see what we have.

And Boeser. He has been hot since the TDD.
I think Brock can get easily depressed by things on and off the ice. When Huggy left, I think it affected him personally, mentally and his game. Hopefully we can see this Brockstar6 regularly next season.

They should have included a clause in his contract prohibiting him from owning pets.

There have been a bunch of trades in the past few days involving minor league players. Kind of caught me off guard.

That’s the thing with Brock. So long as none of his loved ones are sick or dying, and he’s stays out of the infirmary, he’s actually a decent 2nd/3rd liner.
This team

Brock actually said as much straight up in an interview just the other day.

On the bright side of things it appears Rossi, Ohgren and Buium are settling in nicely and we may just have actual legit pieces to build from there in conjunction with our bevy of picks in the upcoming draft.
Maybe (just maybe) Marco and Liam can drag whatever Boeser has left in the tank out of him as well.

Brock has been the one leading of late. Never really saw that coming tbh…..but there it is. Always liked the guy, just didn’t see a leader there is all.

Perhaps management and/or coaches had a post-TDD (or even pre-TDD) conversation with him to the effect of discerning whether Brock was in for the long-haul or not, and if he was willing to stick (or at least wasn't rushing for the door) that they wanted him to step up and be a mentoring vet who provides leadership. Maybe this is him stepping up on that line. That doesn't change the fact he still looks like his dog died out there, even when he scores.
WRT the Quit returns, they've flashed reasons for optimism - and, indeed, Ohgren and Buium are rookies. It's not unreasonable to hope that they can be that supporting depth cast down the road that GMs usually have to fill with FAs. I don't think, cumulatively, they will amount to as much as Captain Quit, but they're not nothing.

Someone else has who has stepped up as a leader is Hronik. I have never seen so may press scrums given by him and they are coherent and engaging. Not his usual blustery self.

Both sides seem to be trialing how it goes in this regard. Hronek has never had much time for the media to-date. I think he may be acknowledging that if he wants to be captain, he needs to be able to do this and be comfortable with it - even when the questions get uncomfortable. I haven't seen him in media scrums, but if he's getting better and more comfortable with it, it's a testament to his character and leadership.
Hronek's one of the keepers, and I think both sides understand that. We'll see come the summer who else among the vets will join him.

It would great to keep Hronek in that 1b spot and mentor who grows into being our top Dman.
If he he's willing to mentor, stick around and wear the C, give it to him.

On a side note, I have TWR trending on thr N0thing is Perfect" YouTube channel. Russ covers the game pretty well. I listen to it when I can't watch the games.
