Benning says NOPE, on discussions on trading Boeser.
"I have no intention of trading Brock Boeser. I haven't had one conversation about that, so I don't know where this stuff comes from." - Benning
“That’s not true,” Jim Benning on reports that the #Canucks have explored options for trading Brock Boeser.
Says he’s had “zero conversations” with teams about a Boeser deal.
Well Jim, it comes from Bag Licking, shit stirring, reporters who like to feed rumour mongering, ungrateful, arrogant, cock eating (by the bag full, not one at a time) untalented 'reporters' like JD Burke.
I wonder if there's a way to log reporters' rumours, to see who turned out to be right and who was full of shit.
I don't even know where Jimothy Dimothy Burke writes/posts, so I don't see any of his rumours, but this should be a big egg-on-face for Sekeres.
I know others at HFBoards like to think Jimothy Dimothy and Sekeres are gospel, but my impression of Sekeres has always been that he has no inside connections (I mean, what hockey insider would want to talk to that guy?). As I recall, Sekeres' stupid introduction to the market was his article saying "Canucks and Sedins are $100 million apart" or something dumb like that. Based on no insider info, just trying to make a headline.
From that moment on, I've had no time for Sekeres.

I mean obviously Benning is going to say no they haven’t been trying to trade him. The thing is, the timing of this shitball thrown out here by Sekeres is hilarious. Only the bottom seven teams can make deals right now. So on the eve of the league hopefully re-starting, he comes up with this crap. Very calculated and done to piss the team off. TEAM 1040 isn’t allowed acccess to the Canucks anymore and the hosts are acting like a bunch of scumbags.
At the end of the season whenever that may be I hope the Canucks would consider moving anyone not named Quinn or Elias if it improves the team. There is going to be a lot of movement in the off season throughout the league. It wouldn’t shock me at all if Boeser got moved.

That Sekeres is still every bit as annoying as he was the day he arrived from Toronto. How the heck does a print journalist from Toronto land a broadcasting job in Vancouver with a voice like that anyway? I mean, it's the worst voice I think I have ever heard on radio and his takes always suck. Plus, he's super negative one hundred percent of the time, always trying to undermine the Canucks with muck raking bullshit rumors. He really should get back to Toronto.

The day they lost the radio rights the house did a 180 and the whole team turned heel. They were now going to be 'the critical station' and draw Vancouver's notorious negative subset of fans. I wish they would at least wear lucha libre masks to work and around town. That'd at least be funny. Imagine big Matt Sekeres coming off the top rope with an elbow to Irf Gafaar's dome.

There is a basic denying, and then there was the absolute dick slap to Sekeres face 'nah fuck that, boeser we keeping' reply JB did, paraphrasing.
Sekeres always comes up with some bullshit: exactly a year ago he said Tanev was getting traded.
https://twitter.com/mattsekeres/status/ ... 02535?s=20
I’m told the #Canucks are, indeed, shopping Tanev.
And who knows what the team will do with Tanev a year later now, if they can lose Eriksson cap hit, they could re-sign Tanev another 3 years in a $4+M AAV range. I wouldn't go 4 yrs, unless it's a absolute cheap AAV.

It’s all bullshit right now. Only the bottom seven teams can make trades. As I’ve said here a few times, I expect a very busy offseason for all of the teams. SKYO is going to be in heaven with the actual trades and signings let alone just the rumours

it was back in the glorious years of the molding and reshaping the team in the rebuild. But now the core looks solid moving forward, all that's missing is that top dog top pairing right shot dman. But you can compensate that with a QB type RD and having multiple two-way dmen, with one ultra defensive dman. Ala Penguins style, they got Justin Schultz to help Letang out.
Brogan Rafferty could pull a Justin Schultz imo, has the same scoring skills, he could help Hughes out in that regard.
Schultz had his time in college, then had a great rookie AHL season, then scored 27pts, 33pts, 31pts consecutively with the Oilers.
Rafferty also had good college years in the ECAC league, known for its great defensive teams (
https://www.uscho.com/2019/10/03/ecac-h ... ssibly-be/) , and a great rookie AHL season.
Rafferty was named to the ECAC Hockey All-Academic Team after leading Quinnipiac with 22 assists. In 2016.17, he became the fifth freshman in Quinnipiac's NCAA Division 1 history to lead the team in assists.
https://canucksarmy.com/2020/05/11/raff/ 2019/20 Utica season in review.
Raff uses his on-ice vision primarily and can find his open teammates with aplomb and superb passes to help on breakouts and creating numerous scoring chances.

Smart GM’s will start trading right away long before it becomes impossible to trade leading up to the Expansion draft. I don’t have a ton of faith in Jim leading up to the Expansion. Personally I think Jim is simply resided with being OK with losing good players instead of trading assets prior to the draft to save assets

Well good teams tend to lose good players in an X-draft.
But I have a great deal of faith in Jimmy managing that aspect of the job well.

True, in 2017 Vegas drafted these players from the 2019 Cup finalists-
Blues: David Perron
Bruins: Colin Miller
Vegas also selected a lot of character vet guys with grit, in Thorburn, Bellemare, Engelland, Stoner, Eakins.
Why I think Seattle could take a Roussel or Beagle, but a lot could change from this offseason to the 2021 trade deadline.

If it's the same as the Vegas draft, which I read it is, then Seattle will also have to draft a certain amount cap. Thus vets get selected. Who knows, Eriksson may have a good showing in the playoffs and next year and only have two years left on his contract with a 6 million cap but far less in actually salary.

I bet they take Myers (if he’s left unprotected). Big right shot dmen are hard to come by, plus he’d be a good veteran presence.

AS long as Benning is here Myers will be protected.

haha nice try Richard, Myers is great fit here, he plays a big mean game, brings mass and wingspan on D at 6'8 - 230lbs plus he seems to average 25-30ish points a season.
He's what you need in the playoffs, just look back at the Bruins/Blues battalion battle finals, game turned really nasty and physical.
