Quite the year for a nineteen year old!

Wonder how he is going to top this next season? :|
Elias already acts like a leader from the minute he was drafted, he went over to the Canucks table and asked the management for all the players they drafted so he can do research on them. lol what just drafted player does that? most are out celebrating with their family etc, meanwhile Elias is asking for the players the team got/has, next day is ready to work out in the Canucks gym aha - Pettersson is on a mission wherever he goes and right now he's analyzing the situation with his transition from the SHL to the NHL.

He's probably recognizing there isn't much help on defense to feed him the puck from his teams zone to the opposing zone.

I mean compare Sweden's D team to the Canucks. Swede's have three 2-way stalwarts paired with three QB's.

While the Canucks have one 2-way stalwart in Edler, a defensive machine in Tanev, a big brute defensive dman in Guds, and some weak offensive type dmen, who haven't been able to score much in mdz/pouliot/hutton and stecher.

Juolevi will be a nice 2-way dman in time though, but the team really needs that game changer point producer dman yet.

All the more reason to swing for the fences and bring in Erik Karlsson

Only if it doesnt require gutting the franchise. How much is too much?
Theyll want a 1st, a blue chip prospect and a roster player at the absolute minimum. Thats a gut punch

I think the Canucks have to acquire Erik Karlsson just for the principal of it - and mostly just so Vegas doesn't acquire him, I think I'd die an instant death if Vegas acquired Erik Karlsson loooool.

I saw that the Marlies have gone 12-2 in the playoffs this year, which means the Comets have been the only team to beat them in the playoffs.

Still just a moral victory I suppose, but surprising nonetheless.

It is surprising and somewhat pleasing, though there are a couple of factors that contributed to the Comets being the only team to beat the Marlies so far in the playoffs.

Demko was great in the two games they won. They were badly outshot in the series and outshot in the games they won, even though they won by convincing scores.

Also, the Marlies got Andreas Johnsson and Travis Dermott back from the leaves for the last game of the Utica series and the rest of the playoffs, which has to have made them a better team than they were in the first four games against the Comets.

Canuck luck already. What's the date? FFS.
Not much doubt about the draft now.
Not BPA, it has to be BDA.
That and, probably the mega bucks get spent sooner than later.

By the way DHA: Great job on the post. Many would have missed that comparison. 8-)

I highly doubt this injury is as severe as Edler's... and the surgery has advanced in recent years.

It's actually pretty common now and Juolevi will likely be ready for full training within a month.

(I did my own research this morning... sorry, no links)
