Loathe as I am to add mercenary Russians, and he rubs me as a bit of a primadonna, but a Mitchkov for Petey trade wouldn't be the worst move management made - though they would never make it because Mitchkov isn't a centre. Maybe management can move him, then, for a better-fitting piece.
At least they'd be rid of Petey.

They need to surround youth with some push back/Luke Schenn types.
Way too much Charminy softness
Welcome to the team!

Debrusk on a rebuild: From the Province:
“I think a rebuild is hard for every player, but at the same point it’s a great opportunity for younger guys,” said DeBrusk. “This game humbles everybody and it’s been a little bit more than humbling this year. Obviously, that (rebuild) is not something I would be okay with or accepting.
“My game doesn’t fit that.”
Hasn't asked for a trade but it is pretty clear how he feels. After next season his NMC switches to a MNMC so it maybe be easier to move him. He has full control of where he goes but one would imagine if its a playoff team he would be open to moving now.

Appreciate his candidness.
Maybe he hasn’t asked for a trade, but if mgmt is as proactive as they’ve shown in the past, they’ve asked for his list of destinations.
He’s on a reasonable contract and would be a useful piece to a contender. Not sure he could fetch a 1st, but he may be one who could fetch more in the summer, once the free agency dust settles.
Boeser, otoh…

I mean, we're getting what we asked for...
...but God that's painful to see - almost as painful as it was to watch them last night.

Good news, this means they’ll be taking contracts back and they’re clearing space to do so

I would think so.
Also - The Vancouver #Canucks have recalled Victor Mancini from the AHL (likely just for Joseph, but who knows...)

Sounds like something is brewing between the Canucks and Islanders. Let’s hope.
