Biden may finally be lifting the restraints on the Ukraine and allow them to use US acquired missiles to attack with the traditional Russian borders.

Neighbouring Finland has also just published its own fresh advice online on “preparing for incidents and crises”.

And Norwegians have also recently received a pamphlet urging them to be prepared to manage on their own for a week in the event of extreme weather, war and other threats.

On an ancillary note, having spent three months inside Russia this summer and having the associated contacts therein, the Russian government is currently in the process of shutting down their nation in preparation for what comes next. All of the previous rules and regulations for entry visas are essentially gone. You will not read this anywhere else, but I can assure you Russia is isolating in preparation for war. This is not a good sign at all.

Having spent some time in the weeds this morning, I’m not sure the current trajectory is reversible before President Trump’s inauguration.

Seriously though, I don't think Putin will start a nuclear war - he is sabre rattling but won't back it up. Every time a red line has been crossed in this conflict, he didn't follow up on his threats. I doubt that he will start now.

Yes, all sides have confirmed that the missiles have to be programed by US technicians and receive their coordinates from US radar and satellites which is again handled by US personnel. It's all highly classified and can't be shared with the Ukrainians lest it wind up in Russian hands.

FWIW I think if comes down to the worst, that Blighty gets it first. I get this impression from deep diving into Russian war blogs and channels over the past couple of years.

ussian-born Boris Epshteyn proposed to US President-elect Donald Trump that he creates a special envoy for peace in Ukraine. Trump himself has not yet rejected the proposal, but has not yet approved it, The New York Times reports.

The agency emphasized that Epshteyn, who was born and raised in Russia, has no foreign policy experience. Previously, he coordinated legal defense in Trump's criminal cases.

Recently, however, according to sources, he offered the newly elected president to become his special representative on the Russian-Ukrainian war.

Several people who were with Mr. Trump and Mr. Epsteyn at the time seemed shocked at the idea of Mr. Epshteyn being appointed to a major diplomatic post. In addition to his lack of diplomatic experience, he is currently under indictment in Arizona along with several other Trump allies for their efforts to cancel the 2020 election.

At the same time, Epshteyn himself said that he has family on both sides of the conflict.

Sources say that Trump listened with obvious interest and did not reject the proposal. However, even so, he has not yet agreed to it.

Fox News recently reported that Trump may soon appoint a special envoy for peace in Ukraine.

Yesterday, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy emphasized that Russia's war against Ukraine would end faster under the Trump administration.
