That trade was a massive overpayment though. And I was a fan of Lindros. Don’t forget the Flyers also tossed Chris Simon into the deal as well. The Nordiques flipped Hexy to the Islanders for a first after one year that ended up being Adam Deadmarsh. They used one of the 1sts on Jocelyn Thibeault who was a big piece to get Patrick Roy a few years later.

If Lindros could have ever kept his head up he would have been in the conversation with Gretzky, Lemieux and Orr as the best player to ever play the game.

All the best players in the game skate with the puck with their heads up and on a swivel. I always found this odd that Lindros had to watch the puck when skating with it. His size had a lot to do with his success but skill wise he isn’t in the same conversation. Not even close

He had amazing skill. As I said if he could have kept his head up he would have been in that conversation. He was a total package.

Hey Doyle do not be surprised to see the German Patrick Kane - Stutzle going 2nd overall instead of your boi - Byfield. Also keep an eye on the Austrian - Rossi. A super talent

Yeah there’s a lot of good young guys up near the top after Lafreniere. Mostly forwards other than Drysdale. Holtz, Lundell and Raymond are also looking to be top 10 guys. It’s a hell of a draft. It would be nice if Elmer can get another 2nd rounder since it appears Tampa may be getting our first this year.

Tampa will take the 2020 pick. It will be around 20th overall. After the lottery area there’s a dip in talent, not overly concerned, not with how well Miller has turned out. But the top 10 looks fantastic. Hell if we don’t make the playoffs we will be in the equation for maybe one of these good prospects as it’s lottety protected. Tampa can have our 2021 pick, it’s not a good class

The chances that the 20th some odd pick would develop into a player as good as Miller is right now are loooonger than my balls

@ Chef Luke Hughes is available in 2021. 2021 doesn’t look as strong, then again you and Berry Picker told everyone over and over the 2017 draft was garbage too. Heiskanen, Pettersson and Makar beg to differ.

Canucks are 7 points clear of Nashville. They’d have to have an epic collapse to miss at this point. These last 16 games has really turned the season around.

It’s not a good class if you remove Makar, Petey and Heiskenen. Quite awful in fact.

A lot of drafts aren’t that good if you yank out the top three players. Great logic

Patrick a bust
Hischier the worst first overall since Yakupov
Glass - 5 goals 7 assists
Andersson went back to Sweden
Mittlestadt demoted to AHL
Rasmussen - AHL
Tippett - AHL
Vilardi - AHL
Brannsttom - AHL
Foote - AHL

It looks like Necas and Suzuki should’ve gone ahead of the above list

Your post is awful. 1999 and 2012 were awful drafts. 2017 is an average draft so far. Lots of depth already playing in the league 2 1/2 years out.
