What does it achieve besides marginalising people?

Truth and fact are more important than feelings.

A true step in the right direction would be to remove gender from Nexus entirely. Nobody's checking genitalia at the border so what's the point?
Gender diversity has existed in many cultures across history but unfortunately religion tries to suppress this fact.
Even for physical gender there are people who are intersex (about 1.7% of the population) and don't fit neatly into the binary concept of gender. I believe the Algerian boxer Imane Khelif could have been one.

I can't really argue with that. In the world of photo ID, the only real time that gender matters as far as government goes is when it comes to healthcare.5thhorseman wrote: ↑Fri Aug 15, 2025 3:24 pm A true step in the right direction would be to remove gender from Nexus entirely. Links to this information if you please?Gender diversity has existed in many cultures across history but unfortunately religion tries to suppress this fact.
Outside of the absence or either, or presence of both, reproductive organs, and chromosomal abnormality, even intersex are either male or female.....note I'm not defining "woman" here, simply the scientific definition. Also, I am using abnormal in the strictest scientific definition of the word.Even for physical gender there are people who are intersex (about 1.7% of the population) and don't fit neatly into the binary concept of gender. Maori, New Zealand: Whakawahine/Wakatane

These are just a few examples. There's many others mainly among indigenous cultures. In the western world, non-binary genders have been suppressed due to the influence of Christianity. One can say the same about the Islamic world.
The point is that non-binary gender identities have existed and is not some new woke concept, though I do suspect in the Western world there's a bit of a bandwagon effect.
I'm not saying we should start using tons of pronouns or letting people use whatever bathroom they feel comfortable with. Those are separate issues and I don't necessarily have a good answer for them.

Yup - pretty much everyone and anyone I encounter nowadays who are triggered by the non binary gender crowd are, typically, deeply religious. IMO, who the fuck cares how they roll, they ain’t hurting’ nobody except the bent out of shape followers of the invisible man in the sky.

Air Canada is the gift that keeps on giving. Hadju ordered the flight attendants back, but they are refusing and going to court. If this drags out, I wonder what the Liberals next move will be? Declare a national emergency? When it's over, Air Canada will be looking for another bailout.

I don't care about gender - have at it, whatever floats your boat. However, I have 3 things about gender issues that I completely disagree with:Chef Boi RD wrote: ↑Sat Aug 16, 2025 9:20 am “In the western world, non-binary genders have been suppressed due to the influence of Christianity. 1. No transgender men in female sports - it's completely unfair. Make another category for transgenders so they can complete with their peers. Women compete with other women, men compete with other men, so why not transgenders competing against other transgenders.
2. No gender changing therapy or treatment for kids under the age of 16. Kids under that age don't know what the fuck they want and shouldn't be able to make such a life changing decision. Hell, it's the same as driving under age or drinking under age - there is a reason for laws against such things, and the same should go for gender changing treatments. Don't even get me started on teachers encouraging kids to gender change and keeping it a secret from the parents - who the fuck do these teachers think they are.
3. No transgender persons that were born with a penis, should be allowed into women's washrooms or change rooms. I definitely wouldn't want my grand daughter changing in a room with a person with a penis between his (it's) legs.
Other than that - go on with life and be happy.
