His absence will assuage any and all potential of enhanced negativity for the still impressionable youth.....

I think the board is in a far healthier place than it was a year ago.

Which is not a Doc commentary....it would be so were he here as well.
Doc was a massive contributor here, but he was also a guy that killed conversations almost as much as Dude and Blob just by moving goalposts and sniping one line out of a good post for the sake of shits and giggles (or targeting anyone who had the upper hand in a debate). He was masterful at that. LOL!

But there was method to his madness. He was an asshole, proudly (as Topper states), and I think he went after people for a few reasons. One, if he felt they deserved it. Two, I think he was sometimes testing people's mettle and hoping to thicken their skin to boost the quality of this place via a crucible method of sorts. Three, he loved banter, it was shits and giggles.

I think most folks around here, if they are honest, will admit to moments of wanting to wring his neck. But he was quality and made this place what it is.....as is said: "cream rises", and Doc certainly did that at this here HTMB.

So, all that to say, at the risk of you thinking I'm just blowing smoke up your ass, I agree with Rats. This place is less negative and nobody jumps down anyone's throat over opinions. I think that decent conversation has picked up, and while maybe there is a little less overall posting happening, the contributions seem more distributed.

I think you were the right person to step in as Doc's successor.....This is not intended as a slight at Herr Doktor. I think he would agree, after all t'was he who recruited you back (several times if memory serves).....despite the fact that you just tarred your old pal 'Tuzzi with the "ster" brush.

Get in the CC gym, people... and stop being vegan. It's not natural.
The Corner is a great place these days - and we welcome new voices, new opinions, and yes, even vegans are welcome. ;)
Kind pushing the envelope with this one.....you're so fucking progressive Corn.

I would completely agree with your second statement, and add that you are a big reason for the state of the board

I was merely reflecting on one of many great traits the Doc possessed, and how much he’s missed in a time when everyone is down.

Don't forget that he also loved aggravating people to the point of driving them nuts. He was proud of several that he drove to the brink of sanity.

Yes, but those were the ones under category 2. It was about the quality of this place (misguided or not).

And sometimes it was all 3 at the same time lol.
