He must have read it on one of those reputable sites like "The Hockey Writers" or "Canucks Daily".... Mcjesus has his best buddy, his hand picked president, his hand picked coach, his wife has her business there and they aren't far off cashing in a cup. I could see him limiting the term to 4 or 5 years though.

The leaves are saving their gigantic cap space for something big. However, could see them using that space to offer sheet a player like McTavish

I doubt they have the picks necessary to make an offer sheet.

Porter Martone commits to MSU, joining Cayden Lidstrom.
The CHL’s 2025-26 season keeps getting less exciting by ths day.

And the NCAA more interesting.
Joins Canucks Romani, too. 3 CHL players. And Michigan State also picked pretty good prospects from the USHL (Ryker Lee; late 1st Rounder) and Sweden (Erik Nilsson; mid second rounder), as well as I think 3 other guys drafted in the later rounds for their freshman class.
It will be very interesting to see what kind of a role they play for Michigan State, and I will be curious to see how it works out. Michigan State was the best team in the league last year (though didn't win the championship) -- while a lot of talent is leaving, some remains and this is quite a freshman class. There's going to be quite a fight for ice time, and not every first or second rounder is ready to take a big role in NCAA hockey in their freshman year. Those with holes in their two way games or who have impressed to date with pond hockey talent can struggle.

Hmm, rumor earlier had Martone going to Michigan, not MSU. Interesting team.
Kaapo Kakko has signed his contract with Seattle.

$4.5M for him for 3 years plus a $2M signing bonus, seems like the going rate for a 2nd line player. He is doing better in Seattle than NY so if he hits 60 points this will be a great deal, 30 points in 49 games.

I wonder if Lafreniere would benefit from playing elsewhere other than NYR?

It sounds like the Team Canada junior players will not be found guilty.
From The Athletic:
Justice Carroccia 'found that I cannot rely upon the evidence of E.M.'
LONDON, Ont. — In reading her decision, Justice Maria Carroccia said, "having found that I cannot rely upon the evidence of E.M. and then considering the evidence in this trial as a whole, I conclude that the Crown cannot meet its onus on any of the counts before me."
She is now going over all the evidence of the case and has not made an official verdict at this time.

Those five kids are outliers.
NHL players are paragons of virtue, by and large.

They have their 3rd. that maxes at $2.3mil. McTavish is looking at $6.7mil per CapWages. That's a 1st and a 3rd.
