I'm not completely convinced Lafrenierre, is the country mile above all others by the time the draft happens.
The numbers are astonishing in the Q. He will go first though. thanks blob

So some random game where nobody has ever played together will tip the balance for you, but two years of him dominating his peers means fuck all. .... Gotcha

Great game...
Better than watching on that big bastardized size of ice in Europe,
Lafreniere doesn’t play on the big ice in the Q
The recent world juniors.
He was the best player there. He’s also been the best out of his age group the past few years on the NHL size sheet. If anything the gap between he and the field is getting bigger at the moment, not smaller.

A possible generational he is.
I don’t throw the word generational around like some husky pricks do. To me generational players have been : Orr, Gretzky, Lemieux and McDavid. As much as I like Sid I’m not sure he is. I think perhaps you could put he and Ovi in that category. So six guys.
Lafreniere is going to likely be a perennial 100 point guy probably right off the hop. Generational... no but he may be like a Nathan Mackinnon type on the wing. Very, very very good... but no not generational.

Sid just came back and put up big points in his first game back. I don't like handing that terminology easily either but not Sid?

I’d say Lafreniere is a great prospect and could be as good as Matthews or Eichel a tad behind McDavid, but still excellent and perhaps generational (though whatever that means is highly subjective). What I’d like to see is someone trade the pick in this strong draft year. We haven’t seen a great block buster since Lindros, when the Flyers traded Peter Forsberg, Ron Hextall, Steve Duchesne, Kerry Huffman, Mike Ricci, $15 million, and two first-round picks to the Nordiques for the no. 1 pick. You’d think some GM, some day, is going to get another offer of that magnitude. But I’m not sure if he’d be smart enough to take it?
