Is she a local or a New Yorker?

Anyhow, I can understand the cons of playing in Vancouver if you’re from Vancouver. The media and fans here can be brutal.

She's a New Yorker.

In the art game I think.

Yeah...worked for Ronning, Courtnall et al.

Different times I guess.

No indications that they're there at this point. By all indications, it seems management wants to support Petey, not replace him.
Where do you sacrifice salary to have Petey and a 2C right now? A guy like Barzal is still a 1C, just not one that cracks the league's top-10 at the position.

Halford & Brough had Satiar on today.....

Consensus was that there is no real trade talk regarding Pettersson because there is nobody who would take him right now.....the team would be paying to make that happen. The Canucks are opting to be supportive because their only hope in this current situation is for him to get out of the funk he's in and get back to being an 82+ point 1C. At that point they would have some options.

They also talked about how him returning to pre-2024 Petey is also the only way they can have a team that they could possibly sell Hughes on sticking with.

Paying to move him means Hughes leaves. Having him stay the way he is probably means Hughes leaves. Him returning to form gives them some hope.

Stamkos has a NMC.

Why the actual fuck would he agree to come here?

I think you're safe on this one Dude.

He bet on Nashville when there were allegedly other competing offers. Tampa couldn’t afford him with their commitments to Point, Kucherov, and Vasi.

He was also betting on himself being a 1C still.

Maybe he makes another bad bet and ends up here.

Even if the rumours had legs, ROR would probably advise him against it.

I'm sure both are looking to jump ship to contenders at their age.

ROR has something against Van?

He wants to get out of Nashville's losing to a contending team. That's a kibosh to some of the trade rumours that Van is interested.

Also, everyone knows his preference to not be near Canadian hockey media.

Don't think it's anything personal.

Leaves wanted to re-sign him.

He declined.

Hated his experience there under the microscope and media hordes.

As Carl said the words are straight from the horses mouth....

Elliotte Friedman on 590 just said maybe the conversations with Quinn about his future happen during the Olympics.

If the Canucks are out of the playoff race by February, does Hughes ask for a trade after the Olympics?

The Olympic environment on Team USA with new teammates push the needle on Quinn’s decision.

Gary Mason - “When the trading of Quinn Hughes happens - and right now it seems inevitable - it will mark the lowest point in the franchise’s history. Giving up a generational talent in his prime can’t be viewed any other way.”

You cannot argue with Gary.

Less than two seasons ago, we had one of the best seasons in franchise history. Should have made it into the 3rd round for the owner.

...turned into a dystopian nightmare.
