I think they overpaid for Nemec.
Guess we will see. The games against us next year will make him look good, so it will be hard to judge.

Fortunately for me (unfortunately for Canuck fans), the Flames are well on their way to having a competitive team. Still have lots of picks. It was a fairly steep price to pay for Nemec, but it could pay off. Also, I've seen somewhere that they could include Nemec in another trade. It'll be interesting to see what happens in the next few days.
If the Flames end up picking Carels or Verhoeff, their defense is looking extremely promising.

I'm thinking this trade points to them taking a big swing on Viggo Bjork, but I guess it could still be one of the D. Bjorck is a lot of people's sleeper in this draft.

Even if we do stand pat, it's better than the damage the Balderson's would have done.
