Maybe not quite as impressive as other goose news, but I just successfully installed a new storm door for Mrs Tciso. The instructions were kinda like Ikea, but not as clear. Thats my good news for the day.*
* and no blood or missing fingers. Only a few minutes of swearing.

The greatest liberation I have enjoyed in my life was when I finally ripped the fucking storm door off my house. The freedom of entering and exiting without holding that fucking thing off with a leg or knee erstwhile hopping through the portal juggling armloads of Walmart junk...truly liberating
It does absolutely nothing other than obstruct. It makes zero difference on keeping the cold out (just install alien tape....SOOO much better). And I live on the plains of the ice planet of Hoth
PS - sorry to diminish your recent accomplishments Tciso....how rude of me.

You should liberate your commodities by ripping the door off the outhouse too.

It reminds me of the time I installed a sliding screen door on one of our houses a number of years ago. I just finished installing it, and the dog we had at the time, ran right through it - fucked the door up and I never did get it fixed properly after that. That was the last screen door I had.

The best thing for bugs is what the maoris have in Enzed. Long thin strips (usually multicoloured) hanging vertically from top of the door to the floor. You just work your way through the plastic dreds with you burger and potato salad getting a nice little fondle on the way through
Come get your meat and potatoes fondled by the gay pride ribbons

Speaking of rainbow, I see our local Home Hardware is celebrating gay pride month to its fullest. I couldn’t find a straight 2x4 in the entire yard this morning.

Scientists in Cambridge used AI to design a vaccine from scratch. It just passed its first test in people. It was safe, with no real side effects. The cool part is what it's aimed at. Not one virus, but a whole family of coronaviruses at once - including the one that caused COVID, and bat viruses that haven't reached people yet. The goal is a shot that still works even when a virus changes.

Canada is now eligible to participate in the 2027 Eurovision Song Contest after its public broadcaster became a full member of the European Broadcasting Union (EBU).
The major development comes following a vote earlier today at the EBU’s 96th General Assembly in Prague.
