Worthy of a mention here -- Blue Jackets win over the Flyers last night keeps them alive. Before you say "its just the Flyers," the Canadiens lost to the Blackhawks the night before.
The Canadiens can punch their ticket with a point tonight against the Hurricanes, who have kind of been going through the motions for a couple weeks without any real prospect of winning the division or dripping to third.
If Montreal loses in regulation, the Jackets get to the playoffs with a regulation win against the Islanders, who have kind of been going through the motions since, what, 2016?
This should have already been done. But the Canadiens haven't won in their last three and the Blue Jackets have won 5 in a row.
