I'll have some fun until he proves us wrong.

100+ point season coming up. And his playoffs can only get better. ;)

Until then, enjoy the 11.6 Alien Scooter Boy

He is an extremely dedicated athlete. I doubt he wanted to acknowledge that he was worn down or not strong enough to fight through the bullshit so I expect he trains twice as hard to come back stronger.

All jokes aside, he is one of the top 10 centers in the game

Another low dollar late summer pickup for the bargain conscious shopper?

He doesn't really profile as a Tocchet type to me, but I guess we'll see what happens.

How can they afford him? Even with players down in the minors? I assume he would $4M.

Nah, nowhere near 2Fingers. They do have plenty of space to sign another player if they put Poolman on LTIR. They don't seem to want to go that route this year but it does remain an option. I think Rutherford drafted him in Pittsburgh so he should know him if anyone does.

He's a league minimum type of signing. Meh...how about someone who can fuck shit up instead

Yeah I was going to say he would be a Teddy Blueger or a Pius Suter type of signing but he might not even be that. He doesn't play center and he's awful defensively by most accounts.

39 goals 89 points over the past 2 years.

Suter and Bleuger together have 36 and 87 over the same time period.

Right hand shot.

6' 190lbs.

Good skater....strong on his edges...decent offensive ability, handles and moves the puck well.

Is reportedly poor defensively which has apparently held him back....but...defense is a coachable trait (although admittedly brains and give a fuck are not)...

...at the RIGHT price would not be a horrible signing.

Perhaps this staff brings out the best in him.

Butt...as Cuz says...we need us some ornery and he ain't that....

That's some nice affordable secondary offense Donny, nothing to sneeze at. I think they had him in Pittsburgh and may have even drafted him so I can certainly see some possible interest there.

I'm getting a $1.5 x 1 vibe.

Yeah...1 year 2 mill by Yzerplan last year after a 2 way 750K in Seattle the previous season so not an unreasonable thought process Megs.

Maybe even get him for a mill or mill and a quarter.

At that price not unreasonable as you and my OP suggest.....

So Sprong is a non-Russian Kuzmenko?

Something tells me this regime is done with Russian players. Hopefully, Tocchet gives Podz a legitimate shot for a proper pump n dump... if they've already decided the kid's fate. However, after watching some of the performances and depth issues in the last playoffs, I'd say Podz is exactly the kind of big body you want out there.
