Confidence waxes and wanes. Struggling early can just as easily transmorphicate into success when it matters most.

They're also enduring some pretty substantial subtractions from their forward group. I thought Chyyil was our best forward to start the season. That one hurt

E Pettersson has looked pretty sound on his own side of the puck this year. Leaning into the datsyuk angle more than the gretzky inclination 8-)

It is almost like he is trying to go on LTIR, taking one for the team.

Shots 31-16.

EVERYONE deferring to QH on the power play, even with 2 guys in his face.

Cute passing plays that 10/10 times are not even close to working.

And overall watching the Canucks is similar to watching paint dry right now.

Very disappointing so far.

What disappoints me is how often he loses possession.

Missed the game, but saw usual lack of shots.

Acceptable road record.

I'd say the same for most of the forwards not named Garland or Sherwood.

Do you think this is a systems issue, an execution issue or an individual issue?

I don't see it as a confidence thing. I see it as missing pieces. They don't even get looks at the net. Unless Hughes skates it all around the zone nobody forces the defense to move. Tonight, Nashville was insanely aggressive on the PK, when a team does that the trade-off is that seams open up that a mobile PP can jump into. Instead the Canucks away from the puck moved out to the boards to give the puck carrier an outlet. Useless.
