I would be fine with him staying in Sweden for 2 more years, similar to what the twins did. Problem is we are desperate for some good PR. Boeser has done wonders for keeping fans interested. The temptation to get Pettersson here next year must be huge.

But then again I advocated for Boeser going to Utica because he just didn't seem ready to me.

He still looks very thin, he's playing in a better league than the CHL but on bigger ice. I think everyone agrees he seems to have a fair bit more time to make plays and monvuver on the big ice. The think I like about the kid is his mental attitude, he said coming into the world juniors he wanted to dominate and he constantly talks about getting better.

He will have to gain weight and possibly strength as well to jump to a league with the best players in the world on smaller ice.

Daring to dream I would love to see in 2 years him centering our top line with Boeser, Horvat centering the Second line and Gaudette centering the 3rd line. If Lind can bring his whl game to nhl he could play with Horvat. If's buts and nuts...

Would be nice if the top pick for the Canucks this year could make the jump to the NHL right away, Tkachuck from Boston U could probably jump in next year if we draft him, but I think Ben and Co will draft another dman first unless Sergachev is still on the board.

Fortunately there's Dahlen in the wings, who'll be coming off of leading Timra back to the SHL and an off-season without Mono.

I would think Dahlen and Gaudette have great chances to make the club out of training camp, which should whet the appetite.

Who goes where? IMO -

Canucks - Goldy, Julevi, Gaudette, Dahlen, Demko?
Utica - Petterson? - Lind, Gadjovich, Palmu, Diepetro?

If Petterson gets stronger over summer he could easily make the team.

Rathbone’s eight-year-old brother, Teddy, was diagnosed with autism at an early age and the two are inseparable. Rathbone is returning to play the majority of next season at Dexter School in Brookline, Mass., to complete his senior high school year before graduating to Harvard for the 2018-19 season.

Rathbone could have played for the Youngstown (Ohio) Phantoms of the United States Hockey League, but staying home will allow the blue-liner to keep building a beautiful bond with his brother.

Yes I heard why he stayed and it’s cool for sure. I just felt like taking the Dude to task. He is a man among boys in that circuit. I have a feeling he will want to finish his education at which point I believe he will be a ufa.

Maybe he turns into something .... not sure

Yeah - I had forgotten all about him until these posts. Long term project for sure, and likely will be falling off my radar in about ... 3, 2, 1.....

Elias with another goal and assist today. That puts him at 20 goals and 30 assists in 40 games. He now has 4 more games to match Kent Nilsson’s 54 point (Junior age) record.

I say leave him in Sweden next year, but tough call given the enticing opportunity for him to be groomed by Hank and Dan.
