I would do that deal but I wouldn't want to add much to it. Simmonds has a limited, albeit important, role he can play for us but is the epitome of a pure rental. But they may wants a pick or too instead of a Brisbois. Hopefully Benning doesn't shed anymore picks, unless they take a Baertschi off our hands too. I dunno. Getting crazy scary.
I get wanting to get to the playoffs. I want that too. But I hope Benning doesn't go crazy.

One concerning angle is how shitty he was for nashville last year when he was acquired at the deadline. 1 goal in 20 games or something.

I think we should get Cole Cassels back from the Pens AHL team.
For any fans of Medieval architecture we could try building a good young defensive line.
Not as good as a concentric castle or a stone keep, a well designed Motte and Bailey Castle stopped many enemy attacks.

To be fair Simmonds was pretty banged up the season prior...
If you recall, he missed only seven games in 2017-18 despite a tear in his pelvic area, a fractured ankle, pulled groin, busted mouth (twice) and a torn ligament in his thumb.
Then he got blasted/injured his knee in the 1st rd, 2nd game in the playoffs with Nashville.

The Devils have the most cap space in the league, they are in a position to take back a cap dump for us.
If it's Brisebois + Sven or Loui, then we do it without blinking.
I'd be fine with Jimbro making that deal with Brisebois + Future low pick and future considerations with those considerations being Loui Eriksson going to Jersey on July 2nd for a 5th or 6th round pick.
