An American friend with contacts in their beer industry said it came out of Arizona. Slow drinkers of larger cans end up with warm beer. Small cans will stay tastelessly frosty cold until empty.

Fact is, the guy seems to be far-left some of the time and far-right some of the time.

The guy seems confused alright, but he has been referred to by the Kiwi government as right wing extremist, so I would say it is pretty logical that is what the media would also report.

Left vs right is mainly about economics though. I think today the GAL-TAN (green-alternative-libertarian vs traditional-authoritarian-nationalist) is a more interesting distinction, and the blood thirsty Australian ghoul would definitely fall in the latter category.

I agree though that there are definitely racists on the left as well. Corbyn has made some anti-Semitic comments, for instance, and many trade unions are very nationalistic. I'd even go as far as suggest that racism is hard wired into our reptile brain, which means it can easily pop up in anyone that is not fully using the reasoning capacities of the frontal lobes. It makes sense. In life or death situations our ancestors needed to make quick decisions, and generalisations help you do that. Combine that with humans being pack animals that are loyal to their own group and predisposed to favour that group over others. We haven't changed much biologically since the stone age, but society has. As long as we use reason, that's OK, we can all get along, but when we fall back on using the more primitive parts of the brain, it's easy to end up in we vs them mindset and things can get ugly. Exhibit one: Yugoslavia.

Right. As I already said, right vs left is mostly an economics thing, regarding distribution of wealth. In these matters the GAL-TAN scale is more appropriate, and that would group all dictators together, whichever distribution of wealth they favour.

My only problem with GAL-TAN is that it has green in it. Whereas green values quite often go hand in hand with alternative life styles and liberal/libertarian concepts, it is not always so. In part because the greens tend to want to dictate what everyone should do, which is a rather authoritarian trait, and in part because some fascists and nazis embrace a sort of reverance for nature; this whole blood and soil thing. The idiot that shall not be mentioned calls himself eco-fascist, which is a case in point.

What is everyone's (who lives in BC) take on the BC Gov setting the limit for damages to $5,500 for minor injuries, they also set the number of experts to 1 per side. The BC lawyers are going crazy and going forward for a lawsuit but if BC is the last province where the current system is used I am not sure how they can even assume they will win?
