If the reports are true that Loui wouldn't waive to Edmonton, he won't waive to Ottawa.

Since he seems to still want to control where he goes, I still think the most likely outcome is mutual termination. If he won't go to Edmonton, or to Ottawa, he sure as shit won't go to Utica.
Yeah I don't think that report has any merit.
Rick Dhaliwal

I asked Milan Lucic if he was asked to waive his NTC in last year to go to the #Canucks:

“No never. There was never a trade to Vancouver as far as I’m concerned.”

Doesn’t sound like Eriksson - Lucic swap ever got serious.
Loui's agent would have said something as well, typically when a player gets asked to waive his NTC, that comes out to the media pretty quick.
It is just a rumour, but it fits with JP Barry's cryptic comments about whether Loui would "rescind" his trade protection.

Barry said no, he won't rescind it because there's no need to rescind it totally. If they have a deal, the Canucks can ask him to waive it.

Actually, many moons ago;
@RandySportak
#Flames Michael Ferland’s mom told him not to hit the Sedins.
“She told me, 'Leave the Sedins alone.' She loves them,” he said.

Andy Scott, agent for Ben Hutton, speaking on Sportsnet 650am Thursday morning on where things are at for him.
Also touches on his friend Ben Hankinson, agent for Brock Boeser, and gives his feelings on that.

Is Hutton really worth 4+

Benning walked away not just because of the cap but because he knew Hutton wasn’t worth that coin. Hutton’s agent basically confirmed that the Canucks circled back after failing to qualify him and came in at a much lower number. Which he said just wasn’t going to fly. On the one he hand he says there is a ton of interest with numerous offers but none of them work for Ben. In other words, no one has yet offered a Ben what he and his agent think he should get.

But as we have seen many times, FA is crazy time.
The only HW the Canucks need

If Ben wants to play for your Vancouver Canucks; he will wait until the super duper star: Brock Boeser is signed, and then! He will sign a 1.8 million dollar per year two year, two way, show-me, contract.
Because; he likes it here!
Is this unrealistic?

I’m sure he’s being offered 2million for a year or 2, which is all he’s worth. Much rather have jordie for that kind of money.

It was actually a bit of a bad joke, Rich.
He's a nice guy but we don't need nice guys.
If he could have shown a wee bit more ugly at the appropriate times and a wee bit better +/-
JB, (the other JB), brings more to the table in this regard. And he's cheap.
Works for now.

Mutual termination would cost Loui $7-9M cash = not gunna happen.

Once he realizes it's Utica or waive for Ottawa, he'll waive.
Well, it's not like it's $7-9 million in a lotto ticket/lump sum, he'll be missing out on $1 million for the rest of this year to ride the buses in Utica for 8 months.

Luongo retired and walked away from his $1 million salary this year.

And, if Loui agrees to terminate this contract, he can to sign with Dallas for $1.5x2, then he's only out $4 mil and one year of a contract.

So, as I said, imo it's still the most likely outcome (other than the boring option of him playing out the year in Vancouver, which is actually the likeliest)

Playing out the year in Vancouver. mm? Wonder how that will work out for him? Will the fans be supportive?
Sure! They pay 150 bucks a seat; why wouldn't they be? Doesn't matter. He wont notice the Luos are boos. He's quite
ambiguous, nebulous as some picture indicate.
But: There could be "The Utica Option" (sounds like a military strategy). Wonder if he'd care?
Doubt it. Maybe a little. Mentor role? Yikes.
Talk about "premature expiration" on a player's shelf life.
