I say this rollercoaster ride has barely begun.Strangelove wrote: ↑Mon Jun 08, 2020 1:01 pmIt will have diminished in effect and "My orange hero" will be given some credit there.
(rightly or wrongly)
The economy is already taking off and Floyd rioting is greatly diminished.
Yes, it's possible that this will never go away ...Per wrote: ↑Tue Jun 09, 2020 6:06 amAnd no one has been able to produce an effective vaccine against a corona virus before. They did not manage to do it with SARS or MERS and they haven't been able to do it with the four corona viruses that cause the common cold. In fact, the immunity you get from having had a cold is so weak, you can have it again about a year later, give or take.
I know Trump want this to go away, but it is not very likely that it will anytime soon.
The states that are opening up right now may very well have to impose new lockdowns within a few months.
I'm on record agreeing there will be a second wave.

Even a Vaccine Won’t Erase this Pandemic
And other tough, contrarian messages from virologist William Haseltine. We ignore them at our peril, he says.
Yeah, right.
Yep, coronaviruses mutate quickly that’s why they’ve never really bothered with coronavirus or rhinovirus vaccines. The “novel” side of covid-19 will be done with in the second wave so our immune response should be less severe and have less mortality. The vaccine they develop may end up being something similar to the yearly flu vaccine where they guess what protein markers to vaccinate against, so a new one every year.Strangelove wrote: ↑Tue Jun 09, 2020 12:21 pmI'm on record agreeing there will be a second wave.
Although, unlike the Spanish Flu, I'm convinced the 2nd wave will be the lesser of the two.
The Spanish Flu eventually mutated its way into oblivion.
This COVID19 will as well...
But I also believe they will produce an effective vaccine in record time.
There has never been as ma$$ive a worldwide effort in the history of mankind.
