TNFGs have to be putting feelers out there to gauge value and interest like it was Antiques Roadshow. That's doing your job.
For the team's immediate concern, Hronek's value is to protect and help develop the next generation or core dmen asap... namely 20yo Zeev and 21yo Tom.
There's no guarantee he hangs around even if he vouches loyalty. He and his agent could decide to force their way out to a contender by TDD if this season goes as sideways as last.
Dude is in his absolute prime age, has proven he is a #1 RHD... at least on a team as bad as the Canucks, so his value around the league should be off the charts.
Along with today's player leverage, fans should not expect to have Hronek here much longer. A rebuilding team needs to be prepare for all possibilities.

Re: 2026 NHL Draft

There's this Russian, plays for Dale Hunter of the London Knights, a huge LD and plays a heavy, physical game. Sound familiar? We lost Zaddy, why not get the next one?
Meet Maksim Sokolovski:

His pt production is pretty meh though, Zaddy had a much better offensive game when he weas in his draft yr. If Sokolvski is still around with some of our mid-picks, hope we consider him. No doubt he is a bit of a project.

For sure. I would be pleased to get him with our 24 pick, but he seems to be a possible late climber.Todd Bersnoozi wrote: ↑Thu Jun 25, 2026 8:45 pmAh, nice. He's a great physical specimen, but his pt production is a bit of a concern. I'd be more comfortable considering him in later 2nd round or 3rd round.Megaterio Llamas wrote: ↑Thu Jun 25, 2026 8:48 pm For sure.
