Stupid drivel is what often pays the bills.
To be expected this time of year, no?

It also keeps the social media algorithms alive by keeping a steady steam of this AI-generated slop.

I was expecting a Friday night trade a couple days ago - starting to get impatient.
If they have any value at all, Kane and Kampf need to be gone before the break Wednesday.
If a couple 7th rounders are offered, take it, just to clear more ice time for the kids.
But, I’m beginning to think they have no value at all.
Then they can grind on Blugers and make a last minute trade at the TDL to maximize his value after the Olympics.
He should be the most valuable piece they have left of the UFAs. I think contenders would want him.

I don’t think it is that they have ‘no value’ it is just the offers aren’t acceptable to the Canucks. Example, Canucks have said they want a 3rd for Kane but are probably only being offered a 5th/6th right now. Hopefully that changes after the Olympic break.

Mr Aquilini would have to okay the eating of Kane's salary, which isn't necessarily going to happen. At least not without some wrangling.
Besides, everyone's been scouting him this year, and he doesn't look like he could crack a playoff lineup to me...

Saw a report on ‘x’ (can’t find it now) that with the Canucks on a ‘mommy’s trip’ don’t expect any trades before the Olympic roster freeze.
Now that I posted this, watch the Canucks make multiple trades before the roster freeze deadline.

My predictions on deadline trades Canucks make.
Kampf - late pick / futures
Blueger - 3rd round pick
Kane - 4th/5th (Canucks retain 50%)
Garland - high pick (1st or 2nd) and decent prospect.
Boeser, DeBrusk and EP40 stay. 1 off them is traded at draft.

As we get closer to TDD the Canucks will take best offer for Kane, Blueger and Kampf. They might take best offer for Garland, as long as it is a good offer, rather than let him get to his trade protection.
Those with trade protection and term may have to wait. They can still be traded after the TDD but won’t be playoff eligible so that would be a hard sell but in the off season when teams can juggle cap.
I do not expect movement of significance this year and don’t anticipate anymore high picks. Nor anymore top prospects. Of course now that the Rangers have ditched the Breadman they have cap for Boeser.

A thought on Garland.....
His value in trade is fairly low to a team that is in our situation. Therefore, his value is to a team that is ether chasing a wildcard or actually in the playoffs. Since we're rebuilding, and unlikely to be even making the playoffs for the next 3 seasons, does his trade protection actually worry management? If a good trade presents itself, surely Garland will accept a move just for a shot in the post-season. He's played his entire career with Arizona and Vancouver, he's been in the playoffs all of twice.....I bet he would waive if given the opportunity.

I have actually starting reading that the Canucks are considering a Kane for Laine trade. Apparently the Canucks want a pick back because they would probably be retaining on Kane while taking the full cap hit on Laine. MTL is interested because they want to make a splash this trade deadline.

Sure, as long as a pick is received - hopefully a 2nd for helping the HABS. Both are UFA next year right? Opens up 8.7mil + whatever is retained. Could be around 11.2 million in Cap space for the HABS.
Room for Petey?!
