Like I said a couple years ago. What a waste of what "was" once a cool word and a beautiful event to witness.
Ritchie Blackmore is awesome though; AND;
In May 1964, Blackmore married Margit Volkmar (b. 1945) from Germany.[50] They lived in Hamburg during the late 1960s.[51] Their son, Jürgen (b. 1964), played guitar in touring tribute band Over the Rainbow. Following their divorce, Blackmore married Bärbel, a former dancer from Germany, in September 1969[52][53] until their divorce in early 1970s. As a result, he is a fluent German speaker.[51]
For tax reasons, he moved to the United States in 1974.[54][55] Initially he lived in Oxnard, California,[8] with opera singer Shoshana Feinstein for one year.[56] She provided backing vocals on two songs in Rainbow's first album. During this period, he listened to early European classical music and light music a lot, for about three-quarters of his private time. Blackmore once said, "It's hard to relate that to rock. I listen very carefully to the patterns that Bach plays. I like direct, dramatic music."[8] After having an affair with another woman, Christine, Blackmore met Amy Rothman in 1978,[57] and moved to Connecticut.[58] He married Rothman in 1981,[59] but they divorced in 1983. Following the marriage's conclusion, he began a relationship with Tammi Williams.[60] In early 1984 Blackmore met Williams in Chattanooga, Tennessee, where she was working as a hotel employee. In the same year, he purchased his first car, having learned to drive at 39 years of age.[61]
Blackmore and then-fashion model Candice Night began living together in 1991. They moved to her native Long Island in 1993.[62][failed verification] Having been engaged for nearly fifteen years,[63] the couple married in 2008.[64] Night said, "he's making me younger and I'm aging him rapidly."[65] Their daughter Autumn was born on 27 May 2010,[66][67] and their son Rory on 7 February 2012.[25][43] Blackmore is a heavy drinker,[25] and watches German language television on his satellite dish when he is at home.[51] He has many German friends[51] and a collection of about 2,000 CDs of Renaissance music.[51][66]

What was once a cool word and a beautiful event?

Buffalo Sabres cleaning house.
Sabres: We have relieved Jason Botterill of his duties as General Manager.
Senior Vice President of Business Administration Kevyn Adams has been named General Manager.
Elliotte Friedman:
BUF has also released director of amateur scouting Ryan Jankowski and a good chunk of amateur staff. Just an ugly day.
BUF AHL team Rochester:
announced today that General Manager Randy Sexton, Head Coach Chris Taylor and Assistant Coaches Gord Dineen and Toby Petersen have all been relieved of their duties.
I'd say it all started off with Tim Murray the “analytics guru” - tanking for McDavid...lost that lotto, losing culture crept in and stayed with the team, eventually driving out the hard workers like Kane and Ryan O'Reilly.
Murray’s first order of business was selling off the team’s good players and
tanking for multiple seasons. While they actively tried to suck, the Sabres never got the first overall pick. They never got the prized jewel in the draft class. Instead of getting Aaron Ekblad and Connor McDavid, they ended up with Sam Reinhart and Eichel. Eichel is a great player in his own right, but ending up with that haul after long-term tanking may have been the beginning of the end.

Why I'm glad Jim Benning has always tried to bring in work horses who have character and the attitude to win above all else to surround his young core. And notably Aquilini keeping the management stable so they can work their long-term plan for success.

Which work horses are these?

Captain material JT Miller, Antoine Roussel, Jay Beagle, Motte, signed MacEwen, Ferland, I know you hate Sutter..well his contract, but he does bring a solid work ethic when healthy.

Miller has been awesome. But we have a captain. Miller would look good with an A no doubt. He is no workhorse though. He’s a thoroughbred.
Roussel is an expensive banged up older wild mustang.
Beagle is a very expensive elderly Clydesdale. Just about ready for the glue factory.
MacEwan is a younger wild mustang with some potential
Ferland is a show pony and very delicate. Maybe he gets hired for birthdays and bar mitzvahs to entertain young children.
Sutter is an old stringy nag that needs to be euthanized
Not seeing these workhorses you speak of.

Hardworking competitive guys that are all thought of highly in every lockerroom they’ve been in. A lot more to team sports than your narrow view. These guys are redundant though now that the young guys are here to provide the culture required.

Lol thanks for the history lesson. I’ve played plenty of teams sports my friend. Let me guess, you’re the Canadian star linebacker

Mentors are great when they can actually perform. Except for Miller and Mac those guys are all baked. Having as much deadweight on the books as we do, may force a move of Jake Virtanen for picks.
