I really want to see what some tutelage by the likes of Schenn and Oleksiak will do for D. Petey. The kid has the moxy and the size. He gets some man strength on him to go with his mentorship from a couple of such pugilistic craftsmen, and I’ll worry less about team toughness/physicality moving forward.

It's going to be a long season, but if they can pull off some nights like this, it will be tolerable.

There will be a lot of nights where they’ll be outclassed, but as long as they keep going down swinging, it’ll be a bit easier to take.

After the start I'd say that Van carried the play more or less. Seemed to settle into a good positional game with a good forecheck going. Showed toughness and if I'm not mistaken owned the walls against a team that usually owns the walls.

Early signs of the coaching crew making a difference?
