American Reid was really impressive. Him and Verhoeff seem to be going head to head for the top D-men of the 2026 class and as of now Reid is winning that race.

Canada’s defence this year is their week link. Americans defence with the likes of Reid and Hutson allows them to play as a 5 man offensive unit whereas we are kind of hopeless in that regard. Parekh seems to be playing by himself most the time, yes skilled but his line mates are as every bit as confused as they are as him on what he’s going to do next. You watch Hutson he really knows how to commandeer the o-zone the way Quinn Hughes does, same with the American Reid.

I also thought that Brunicke struggled with the puck at times.

The American prospects don’t seem to get the love at the pre draft hype build up as do the rest of the countries. It’s why you keep seeing Americans coming out of nowhere on NHL teams who were drafted down in the order, that’s slowly changing.

Hunter needs to give Carter Bear a chance, he’s an energy player who competes hard. I can think of a few forwards who are doing nothing. One of them being a biased pick cause he plays on Hunters OHL team - O’Reilly. He’s hopeless out there.

Also, get Verhoeff in ffs. There are a couple who could come out for him.

Fire that little defenseman Reid into the sun.

My beef with Mckenna is he doesn’t carry the play. The puck is as quickly off his stick as soon as he gets it. I ain’t picking on the kid but he hasn’t impressed me nowhere near to the level Stenberg has. The puck seems to follow the “special” players around just simply due to their hockey IQ and seem to hold on to it longer than the average player, driving the play. Just not seeing that with McKenna. He looks very ordinary out there.

Yup, but I have zero faith in Hunter making the adjustments.

Also wish we were playing against stiffer competition the next two games, we are in a weaker division but that will come back to bite us in the round robin.

I agree; I was just about to post a similar point. He's definitely a slider in the draft, not in the same class as Bedard/Celebrini or Schaefer, for that matter. His numbers are really nothing special in college, not the two points a game Hobey Baker performance that Celebrini put on. I might even send him back to Penn next year to master that level of play. He hasn't done that yet.

Could still have a Paul Kariya-like career after everything is said and done.

Dude, after watching the Americans, Chase Reid could be in the mix to go first overall. Watch this kid the next time the Americans are playing. Not only is he skilled, smart and an excellent skater he’s got size too - 6’-2” 190 lbs.

I have Stenberg and Reid higher on my list right now than McKenna and Verhoeff. Too bad Lawrence wasn’t there, tough to know where he stacks up against his draft mates.

Mckenna doesn’t look anywhere near ready for the pros. Stenberg and Reid look more pro ready. I agree, I think McKenna needs to cook another year in the NCAA.

You're right about those two Chef, I'll definitely have an eye on them. Yes, it is too bad about Lawrence, he's the center this year.
