Re: Canucks News N Notes 24-25
Juulsen as a 3/4? Now I've heard it all. He handles the puck like a grenade. I'm ok with him as a 6-8 guy but if he is in your top 4, your team sucks shit. He did improve and earns himself a 7 spot last year and held down an NHL job for a whole season. He would need to take a massive leap to become a second pairing D at 27.
How Dakota Joshua is grossly overpaid in some folks' sleep crusted eyes is fascinating to me. Solid third line players get 3 million + a year. It's a thing.
I would have went the extra year for the big diesel. I'm a bit pissed they didn't bring him back. He ticked a lot of boxes.
Podz looks like a piss poor pick at the moment with Boldy sitting there. Not as egregious as the 2016 abortion of a high draft pick but the kid needs to figure it out now.;
Who has a true top 6 at the moment? I see the need for another guy up front that can play some hard minutes with a bit of an edge. Not easy to find. Most teams operate with the notion of a top 9 these days. Piglander is a candidate to be moved, but where is the angst over paying Garland almost 5 million bones per?
Edmonton is going to have to bounce someone. Do they bring Ike Turner home if Allvin can work some cap magic?
Allvin isn't done just yet. I foresee a trade or two coming before the season.

Giving Edmonton some much needed LTIR relief and then returning in time for the playoffs.
Somewhere in NW BC trying (yet again) to trade a(nother) Swede…..

If at the time of the trade we'd have known how well Hronek would have worked out for us, including signing him long term for this cap hit, I would have traded Horvat straight up for HronekChef Boi RD wrote: ↑Fri Jul 05, 2024 6:30 amBeing how difficult it is to get a good middle aged RHD I’d say it’s a pretty fair trade for Vancouver. The Willander pick will be huge for us, hopefully he develops fast cracks the lineup next season.Topper wrote: ↑Thu Jul 04, 2024 8:58 pmHronek and 1.25M in cap spaceChef Boi RD wrote: ↑Thu Jul 04, 2024 8:54 pm We basically traded Horvat and a 2nd to get Hronek.
Beauvillier = bum
Raty = bum
Do you consider this a good trade for Vancouver?
with the 2nd round pick we added and some 4ths and players it's not quite 1 for 1, but I think it worked out pretty well. If Raty works out, that's icing on the cake imo

And Raty made some real progress last year. He's getting close, there's still every chance we get a cheap versatile bottom six forward there.Raile wrote: ↑Fri Jul 05, 2024 10:29 amIf at the time of the trade we'd have known how well Hronek would have worked out for us, including signing him long term for this cap hit, I would have traded Horvat straight up for HronekChef Boi RD wrote: ↑Fri Jul 05, 2024 6:30 amBeing how difficult it is to get a good middle aged RHD I’d say it’s a pretty fair trade for Vancouver. He's 21 years old, people I think sometimes forget how young Raty still is.

Just in time for Vinnie or Forbert to knock him out again.

They still gotta get under the cap for start of season, so there’s that.

Raty is a bum at 21. Savoie is washed at 20. But Podkolzin is the man at 23.

Best chant ever at the old PC was "Albert! Albert! Albert! Albert!" That's 84-86 ish. We were just teenagers then sneaking in mickeys and baked as fuck. The old man was so disgusted he wouldn't even use our tickets we split with another family for over a decade. He was bitter after they traded Curt Fraser for Tanti, then Harold for Al Macadam, and the Neely trade sent him over the top. He missed about three years of games. But he was happy when the big Irishman came in.

That lounge across Renfrew from the PC used to take our BC Identicard fake ID that we'd buy downtown. 15 yrs old hammered to fuck on jugs of rockaberry or molsons garlic Canadian then across the street halfway through the 1st to scoop cheap tix or just puke in the shrubbery outside. Either way it was epic

Purely motivational tactics, I do this to my crew as well. I don’t give bonuses at the end of the year, just a happy holidays card saying “you’re a bum, washed up, a loser, you’ll never amount to anything, see you next year and don’t be late”Blob Mckenzie wrote: ↑Thu Jul 11, 2024 3:27 am Raty is a bum at 21. Funny how those 2 things are equivalent when you are 15.Cousin Strawberry wrote: ↑Thu Jul 11, 2024 4:58 am That lounge across Renfrew from the PC used to take our BC Identicard fake ID that we'd buy downtown. 15 yrs old hammered to fuck on jugs of rockaberry or molsons garlic Canadian then across the street halfway through the 1st to scoop cheap tix or just puke in the shrubbery outside.
