Re: Is there a "Doctor" in the house?
Thought I would give an update.
A couple of months ago I finished my chemo and earlier this month I went for a CT scan and MRI to see how treatment went.
Prognosis is very good and looks like no surgery will be needed.
To everyone who is fighting, or know someone who is, the battle right now, “keep it up!” Also, thank you for all the well wishes, I really appreciate it.

I got a Fuck Cancer for my car.
Still taking a chemo drug but it is playing havoc with my kidneys so getting a kidney biopsy at the end of the month.
A drug can help you but the side effects can be almost as bad and then you get medication to counter the side, if it wasn't so scary it would be funny.
Now when something happens I can't tell if it is linked to cancer or just my age catching up to me.
Edit - for 20+ years I had this book idea in my head, 10 years ago I even wrote a few pages on the outline of the book. A few months ago decided WTF I started to write it. Sent first chapter to my nephew for him to read. He does and replies, good news and bad news. He said he was really good, good flow character etc. Bad news he wants chapter 2.
Because none of us know what comes tomorrow I decided I was not going to wait, I am not even close to a professional, reading books on how to write and using AI to help but I have read thousands of books all different styles and I know what I like so I am writing that way.

Re: Is there a "Doctor" in the house?
Keep up the good fight Reef.
Cool story on the book.
My Mother is artistically inclined (she had some works shown at the CM of CA) from her youth...like teen youth I mean. She was really good.
Then she got pregnant in high school (me) and stopped other than fucking around or creating shit for holiday seasons et cetera as she raised 3 kids as a homemaker.
Anyway...she could also write and always wanted to do a book.
She's middle 70's now and never did it and speaks often of regretting it.
I keep telling her to write the fucking thing
The worst that will happen is your brain will be exercised which is huge for aging humans.
So....good for you for digging in.
Good luck with it man.

So true Donny.
Strength training is another one I've heard is huge, I guess it helps to prevent falls, which leads to loss of mobility, which has an outsized effect on overall health and longevity.
I've also recently learned that this needs to include light to medium impact (as much as is safe) to improve bone density. Impact is exercise for bones.

And balance training as well 5th.
The "I've fallen and I can't get up" syndrome is reality as we age.
Old folks don't bounce like kids...they break. So not falling is the cure.
I have, some time back, incorporated a half hour Tai Chi/balance routine into my daily workouts....
Wake up
Drink water
Tai Chi
Shower breakfast
Coffee
On with the day
I then walk daily with the little woman (post dinner to accelerate metabolism for caloric burn pre sleep) and then strength train 4 - 5 days a week.
Another excellent exercise we should all be incorporating into our dailies are dead hangs.
These help grip strength, posture, spinal decompression, shoulder mobility and work your core hard if done properly.
If you've never done it try it....tough as fuck at the beginning but gets easier rapidly.
