Blackhawks re-sign D Bowen Byram to 6-year, $75M deal[/i]
..crazy..
They set themselves up for that, didn't they? I'd have thought they'd at least get to take advantage of the last of the 8 year deals. Nope.
The only way this looks good is if the trade itself looks good and he's worth whoever the Blackhawks would have grabbed at 4. So its just a double down -- but to mix card metaphors, the first bet (the trade) had them pot committed.

..and also for Philly Tyson Foerster 8 year 56 million
That's betting on a guy. (edit: I suppose the same can be said for Demidov, but it seems both safer and has a greater potential to look like a steal. 60 plus points in a season he started as a 19 year old.... Foerster has a half a point a game over his career, was hurt last year, and strikes me as a guy who tops out in the 60-70 point range if all things go well. That's a good player, but there are lots of those players. Demidov is going to get 100 points some day.)
Yeah...100% agree with this...the Foerster deal surprised me.
13 goals in 29 games last year rose color glassed Philly brass lol.
Ex Canuck Juulsen also to Avs.
Arviddson to Wings 2 years?????
Not sure if Helle is out, but Skinner fits perfectly for a backup that can be the starter/1A if he's moved.
Honestly, I don't think Skinner is bad at that price given what else is out there. He's still at an age he could find another level, and maybe all he needs is new instruction. I wouldn't back the best player in the world with him, but for a team in the Jets situation, it makes sense.
