I've edited my post for proper attribution. An oversight not seeing your post.

Even if The Canucks draft a RHD that pick won't be ready for a few years. But if we sign Gudas that would give us Hronek, Gudas, Willander and Mancini on the R side. I also agree we should not be trading Horenk. Someone has tube the adult back there.Mëds wrote: ↑Tue Mar 31, 2026 11:22 amGudas is 35, no team will offer him more than 3 years. 3 years is not too long for this team right now. Overpaying him by $1M or less is part of the price of rebuilding. His current deal pays him $4M, wherever he lands next will be for less. I would happily pay him $3M x 3 if it meant not paying Meaty $5.5M x 5 (remaining).Madcombinepilot wrote: ↑Tue Mar 31, 2026 11:00 amIt will not be a reasonable contract.
No UFA signing here will be reasonable for the next few years. They will all be 1-2million too much, and 1-2 years too long.
When you suck and in a rebuild, nobody wants to play there... Remember Chicago and SanJ before they got a star?
The only hiccup in this plan is that Gudas is a RHD, that could create a logjam on the right side depending upon who the Canucks draft.
The only HW the Canucks need
